Should You Learn From Mentors or Your Mistakes?
If you choose to learn from mentors you have made a wise choice based on my 6 years of online marketing experience. However, regardless of which path you travel, you want to make sure you learn correctly! A huge tip here is one that I struggled with and that is to not put your special twist on what your mentor teaches you! Do not let your ego or lack of confidence get in the way of modeling exactly what they do. You may struggle, but follow what they do regardless of your fears or limiting beliefs.
Learn From Mentors and Save Your Ass…ets!
One of the biggest reasons you want to learn from mentors instead of from your mistakes is because it will save you time and money. Your mentor has already gone down the path you are traveling and can help you avoid the obstacles along the way that can rob you blind.
I have discovered that frustration, wasting money and losing focus are a few of the major reasons why people give up in their online marketing business. By choosing to learn from mentors how to do your daily marketing tasks, you can avoid the frustration which often happens if we try to do things ourselves. Plus, your mentor may be able to help you avoid some financial pitfalls or online scams.
Learning From Your Mistakes
Although it is best to learn from mentors, you will encounter situations where you need to learn from your own mistakes. Learning from your mistakes is always a good thing for several reasons…
- It teaches us a lesson that growing involves overcoming challenges.
- As we overcome our own mistakes we can relate to others and become better leaders.
- Each new lesson we learn from our mistakes may serve as a reference or example to help others who may encounter the same challenge.
