Zeek Rewards Calls it Quits with Consultant Dr. Keith Laggos for Pitching Lyoness

Troy Dooly over at the MLM Help Desk put a great video blog post up the other day on Youtube about Zeek Rewards calling it quits with consultant Dr. Keith Laggos for pitching Lyoness to a group of Zeek affiliates via a conference call.

I was on that call… and here’s a summary of what went down from my perspective. 

Toward the end of last month, I got a phone call from gentleman named Dennis Dvorin asking me if I was in Zeek Rewards.  When I answered yes, he proceeded to explain that there was a conference call being placed that afternoon with someone very high up in the Zeek Rewards leadership structure and wanted to be sure I would be on the call.

So, I took down the call information, noted the time, and proceeded to call a few key members of my downline to let them know – thinking of course that they’d like to be in on this “insider” call as well.

When the call began, Dennis introduced Dr. Keith Laggos – known across the network marketing world for the past 40 years as being one of the most knowledgeable consultants around.

Within minutes, it became very clear to me that I’d been duped into attending a cattle call meant to instill concern over the viability of Zeek Rewards and position the company Lyoness as a lucrative and attractive Plan B option into which we should start looking.

You know that feeling you had if you were ever invited over for dinner at a friend’s house and ended up being pitched their MLM company?  I really like MLMs and was bugged by that approach.

Imagine how I felt with a few of my key guys in Zeek Rewards on the line listening to this stuff!

Needless to say, at this point I was pretty pissed off.

Dr. Laggos was at the time of this call a paid consultant for Rex Ventures, the parent company of Zeek Rewards and Zeekler Penny Auctions.  It struck me immediately as being odd that he would then be pitching other Zeek Rewards Affiliates (Dr. Laggos is himself a Zeek Rewards affiliate) on Lyoness – another MLM.

To be fair, Dr. Laggos did reference several times that though he felt the FTC is investigating Zeek Rewards and may shut them down any time between now and a year from now… he was heading to speak with the powers that be at Rex Ventures very soon to help them devise a plan B should this happen.  😉

Troy did an excellent job on his video blog of explaining the full tone of this conference call. He confirms my gut reaction, which was that my “bullshit” meter was going off.

Final Thoughts Regarding Dr. Keith Laggos and Zeek Rewards

I am still going strong with Zeek Rewards, and our team continues to grow.  In fact I wrote up a pretty good Zeek Rewards Review.

I don’t know Dr. Laggos personally, so I can only reflect on this whole deal from a professional perspective.

It was bogus and the man should know better.

Firstly, you don’t join a company (Zeek Rewards) as an affiiliate if you consult for them.  How the hell are you going to stay objective?

Secondly, if you are consulting for a company, you absolutely don’t engage in the practice of cross-recruiting them into another organization!

Dr. Laggos, you have contributed a great deal to the knowledge base of direct sales, network marketing, and all things MLM.  I applaud your achievements in this regard.

However, the next time you’d like to talk to me about joining one the teams you have in place with another organization, please do me the courtesy of letting me know that as part of the “invitation to the call…” rather than pulling the bait and switch once I and a few of my top leaders are on the line.
