Good Bye Facebook: Empower Network New Comment Platform

I’ve never really liked Facebook for Marketing all that much.  I got onto Facebook in 2006, back when you had to be going to a major university to be able to even get a profile.

Facebook was just a bunch of college co-eds posting about the next frat party when I started using it.

So maybe I’m a little biased when it came to Facebook shutting down Empower Network’s domain name. I didn’t really care because I had branched out and found so many other ways to market.

And actually…..

I’m Glad Facebook Shut Down Empower Network Links

Yeah, I said it, a leader and featured trainer in Empower Network. I’m glad Facebook shut us down.

Marketing on Facebook had become a crutch for online marketers.

The belief was “if I share my link on Facebook enough times someone is going to eventually click on it.”

Unfortunately there were people who took that as truth and didn’t realize the problem with their logic. Repetitive posting of ANY link on Facebook is going to annoy the hell out of people. And they’re going to report it.

In order for sharing a blog post or a capture page link anywhere it must be natural, or at least appear to be natural. (If you don’t know what I mean by “appear” natural then you need to watch video #3 in the 15K Formula to learn how any blog post can be shared automatically multiple times and it happens in a way that mimics natural sharing.)

Well, the actions of the few ended up punishing everyone within Empower Network.

So then why did Empower Network growth increase by 25% the same month that Facebook shut it down?

Because the people that made that increase happen aren’t wussies and know how to adapt.

And if you can’t adapt to the changes around you, then you are dying. And I mean that literally. If you can’t adapt to changes on the Internet then your business is dying.

Google hit the entire Internet Marketing profession with a slap a few years ago. That slap put a huge dent into some people’s business, and it completely ended the business of others, but for some, it increased their business. How is that?

Because those that saw an increase in their business adapted to the change. They found new sources of marketing and their business grew because of it. Now they are at a point where they could have 5 sources of marketing go down and still have more than enough sources to rely on for traffic. If you want to know about that story and the recovery from the Google Slap you can watch it in the new Empower Network Masters Course that is to be released soon.

It’s because of this that I think the Facebook slap on Empower Network is a GOOD thing. Too many people were relying on it as their only source of traffic. There are some that just wussed out and quit because of it. And then there are others who realized “oh crap, I gotta find more than just one place to get traffic!” and by doing so their business exploded into new growth and so did Empower Network.

So for every complaint I see about someone saying they can’t post to Facebook and it’s ruining their business here is my reply to that:

Facebook didn’t ruin your business. YOU are ruining your business by letting a 3rd party source dictate what you do in your business. There are dozens of other ways to drive traffic to a site. Don’t believe me? Then I know you’re not “all in” and that you’re just dipping your toe into what is possible.

Did you know that those who have had the biggest success in the history of Internet Marketing (not just within Empower Network, I’m talking about ALL of internet marketing) are those who stepped out and discovered new methods of driving traffic?

So are you going to play small and whine about Facebook? Or are you going to play BIG and become a REAL entrepreneur and discover new things.

Because if you’re not willing to branch out and expand and grow yourself and what you do,,, then you’re not an entrepreneur, so quit pretending to be one.

My friend Kim and I think that this video is pretty much exactly what I’d say to anyone that would argue with me on this:

So, back to not liking Facebook for Marketing.

There’s a huge Facebook Slap that’s going to hit the online marketers just like Google did, are you going to sit around and wait for it?  Or do you want to be a part of the crusaders that are going to not only be ready for it when it hits, they’re going to be successful in other areas of marketing while the rest try to catch up.

The Empower Network blog had been using Facebook Comments. Of course, something I didn’t care for. I didn’t like the comments being hosted with Facebook because app/plugin connections to Facebook aren’t always reliable,,, but I’m not a whineass so I used what was available and was glad that I didn’t have to deal with the nightmare of getting the Facebook Comments setup and connected to the blog.

(Woo Hoo! for the programmers that handle all of the blog setup and maintenance of the Empower Network blog so I don’t have too!)

Now Empower Network Has a New Comment Platform for the Blog.

And I’m fricken excited about that. (Cuz FB is just a bunch of pansies.)

This is gonna boost SEO way better than having just FB comments ever would… check it out below and give it a test. Leave your comment, are you going to be the type of person that moves forward and finds new/better ways to build your business? Or are you going to sit around with your thumb up your butt and whine about how things aren’t working the way you want them to?
