It’s safe to say that Beyonce’ brought the house down with her jaw-dropping performance during the Super Bowl Half-Time Show Sunday. If you missed it, watch it here now.
Beyonce’ wasn’t playing when she said she is a perfectionist and practices till her feet bleed. It showed in her performance. It truly takes hard work and dedication to pull off a presentation so elaborate and captivating. Through all the dancing, singing, and pyrotechnics, the one thing that stuck out to me the most was the voice at the very beginning of the show. Who was that guy talking before the music started. I mean was it just me or did he sounded old? Well I did some research and found out that the voice we heard was the voice of Vince Lombardi. He was the coach of the Green Bay Packers and his team won the first two Super Bowls in the history of the event. This shows that Beyonce’ really did her homework not just on choreography but on the city of New Orleans (based on her song choices and choreography) and the NFL. By doing so she not only entertained us but she also inspired us. The famous quote by Vince Lombardi is as follows:
“Excellence must be pursued – it must be wooed with all of one’s might and every effort that we have. Each day there is a new encounter. Each week there is a new challenge. In all of the display and in all of the noise and all of the glamour and all of the color and all of the excitement and all of the rings and all of the money, these are the things that only linger in the memory. But the spirit – the will to excel; the will to win, these are the things that endure.”
So here’s what I take from this:
To ensure success in whatever goal we set for ourselves we must do the following:
- Pursue excellence
- Avoid distraction
- Have faith in oneself
- Develop will power
- Maintain endurance until the very end
If we can do this, we can live victoriously accomplishing our goals and dreams, and slay our haters with our success.
There was a lot of controversy about Beyonce’s singing leading up to the Super Bowl after the Presidential Inauguration. I mean there was never any question if Beyonce’ can sing live, but the way she belted out those notes at the Superbowl will make people think twice about trying to get on her case about lip syncing ever again.
Other highlights from Beyonce’s performance includes a brief Destiny’s Child reunion with Kelly and Michelle. The ladies looked fierce together. I mean as soon as I saw them jump through the bottom of the stage, I stood up screaming and clapping as if I were still a teenager in high school. I love Beyonce’, but Kelly has always been my favorite, and I love Michelle’s gospel music immensely.
Overall the singing was great, the choreography was awesome, the performance was definitely a showstopper. In fact the lights went out for at least 30 minutes after the performance. This was definitely a Superbowl halftime show to remember in more ways than one.
