Simple Steps to MLM Recruiting

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

Top Leaders in network marketing have a team system that they have in place to send new team members to once they join their organization. For the most part all systems are basically the same they all have the same purpose. It is easy for the leader to know exactly how far the new member has gone in the process to be able to help when the time arrives that help is needed.

I would like to attempt to break down to you the process to getting someone new started. This hopefully will make much easier when the time comes when they start building their team. I hope it will help the process of how a MLM Recruiting system works.

MLM Recruiting

Exposure is the first order of business:

As I have learned since being in the network marketing industry, the first thing to accomplish is exposing prospect to what you have to offer. I like the word “Piquing” getting them interested is our goal here we want their full attention.

You want to make sure that where you are sending them has them listening throughout. Catching their attention with something that will help them with their needs, as we all know we started in this Industry for all the same reason, financial security so hitting that soft spot is where to begin.

I never start a conversation spilling my guts with my primary business opportunity, or the do you want to make X amount of dollars per month it just isn’t the right way to go. The reason why is as i have learned, most new people can’t grasp the thought of them earning that much money especially in a short amount of time. Especially if they are not familiar with Network Marketing.

Things have changed from the past from traditional ways of building, but the best and quickest way to expose people is by using the internet. I love this way especially coming from the old school way of MLM Recruiting,  I call it the walking and talking method. One thing to remember though is when using the internet whatever strategy you choose whether it be article, blogs or ads the opening sentence has got to be compelling enough to catch their attention.

It is also very important in the early stages that you do not bury them with a whole business presentation right off the bat. The main purpose of exposure is to get them interested by piquing their interest so you can get them to the next phase. Keep this process very simple and not complicating you have to remember the prospect is evaluating this kind of like I did when I started, asking themselves if they would be able to do this.

This is the first step to becoming a MLM Recruiting machine…

Now the Opportunity gets Presented:

You could easily present your business opportunity to them this is especially true if you are in a conversation with them already right then and there. Just have them go to whatever site you have the presentation on and guide them through what they need to do and pay attention to. Otherwise if you are in a business that has their business presentations for you setup in the back office or your team leader has them then this is where you would send the prospect to.

It should have all the information in it that will answer all of their questions like compensation, startup cost, product and information about the founders of the company and the company itself. You could give them your number and email if you want to it might be a good idea just in case they have a question.

Most of the time the team has a group somewhere like a Skype or Facebook group where help can be given by other team members. These are fantastic resources that will take the headache away from you constantly being on the phone instead of building your business.

If you company or Leader doesn’t have this in place for you, it might be a good idea to suggest it, or maybe look elsewhere. Just being honest here having been through it before it is a learning experience.

I am a huge fan of the Internet, using systems platforms and online tools to do most of my work for me. I know that there are lots of people that just flat out like the old fashion way of doing prospecting “belly to belly” not my favorite, but it is a way if you like that old school style power to you. It isn’t being afraid to talk to people because we still do, it just isn’t the most popular approach anymore.

Systems platforms and online tools are really easy to learn how to use and very effective. I have found from my mentor a group of tools that work fantastic for my MLM Recruiting. Not everybody will agree with this way of business building, so you need to find what is going to be best for you.

Letting your prospects know what you are doing is a great idea so they have an idea of how you are building your business, and it gives the opportunity to either do what you are or seek something other way.

If you have got to this point and really understand great you have done you duty and you are on your way…

Then it comes to Enrolling and Training:

Alright, let me be brutally honest here for a few can I. The whole process of the enrollment is by far the easiest process to do. I don’t think I need to go into a whole half page or even more than a paragraph of writing you. It is real simple send them to your website and they follow directions it is that easy. Don’t you remember when you signed up I do it really was that easy, but oh well.

Now once they have finished the signup process “by themselves” you will know and then the follow-up call or email will follow. In my eyes, unless they really don’t have a clue as to what to do, that really should be the only time when you take them through the process step by step.

This is where you will find out whether they are serious or not. I know that some early stage MLM recruiters like to take them by the hand step by step because they are afraid of losing them and that is their prerogative. What might work for some doesn’t for others that is the beauty of the Internet there is always someone else coming into the funnel. Again we want to make the process as simple as possible so the prospect will see exactly how it works and how simple it is.

Personally, I am looking for business partners that want to take action. I wouldn’t want to start something that I will have to spend a major part of my time showing people how to do everything step by step. This saying hits it on the spot “a man convinced against his will, is of the same opinion still”. So I don’t have time with fence dwellers, I am ready to build this into a million dollar business and I want movers and shakers who want to join me…

If we just keep exposing enough we will find the people who want to make the decision, and our financial situation will take a dramatic turn for better, and as we become MLM recruiting masters our businesses will flourish what a beautiful thing where else can we do this..

The area of training is an important topic that needs a bit more attention. Getting a new business partner off to a fast start is vital to their staying in this Industry. If you are using tools and platforms they will need some training on how to use them. Usually there are training tutorial videos that will help in this process. I am going through some now fully self-explanatory.

I mentioned earlier in the post about groups this is the time and place to implement it.  To reiterate ooh fancy word…lol…If your team has a Skype or Facebook group that is where you want to send them to as well. I learned this from my mentor; it takes a lot of the burden off of your shoulders. Not that you are pawning them off on someone else, but in all honesty they will be able to get their questions answered quicker that way rather than waiting for a call back that could quite possible take a couple days if not more. There is almost always someone on-line in those groups.

You still need to invite to webinars, weekly team and company trainings, and show them where to go to find out about company events and even events that are outside of your company. Direct them towards training on fabulous tools and services like Myleadsystempro and Empower Network.

I mentioned a couple paragraphs ago getting your new team member off to a fast start and helping them sponsor someone will help them realize that this business really works and they really don’t have to know that much in the beginning, but most times that doesn’t happen for them this is where we need to encourage them to stay with it because eventually it will happen.

We understand the process of this industry and it has to be clear to the newbie. We only get paid for things we do for our business which  are selling our product and being a MLM recruiting machine to get people to join us that is what keeps us going.

The Final piece of the MLM Recruiting System

Once they start having a little success, finding a way that fits their style of building a business long term is key. Everyone isn’t interested in the same business building strategies, and there literally are dozens of excellent strategies to accomplishing this. Everyone needs to find their strategy or strategies they have an interest in, they need to master it or have a real good understanding so that they can expose new people to their business EVERY day.

This is critical to long term success… never stop recruiting, or your business will slide backwards and the money will follow.

Being a MLM recruiting magnet is sure to happen if you understand the process and don’t get caught up in the hand holding. There are systems and videos used to expose recruit and train all we need to do is master them and we will visit the beaches of the world and sip on margaritas.

The success we produce is in the actions we take with new team members it only does justice for the Network Marketing industry and will put the believability back into it as well.

To your success!!!
