Whatever It Takes

In life, in business are you willing to do whatever it takes? Whatever it takes for you to have the results you desire in your life or business? While most people say “YES” only a few actually do whatever it takes!
My Story
If you have been following my story for anytime, you should know a few things about me. If not well, let me catch you up to speed.
I am happily married to my wife, Kristi, and have been now for 9 years. We have a little (almost) 17 month old girl, Kensi, who we absolutely love to pieces. My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family!
On top of that I work a full time job and I am preacher. I’m not doing much preaching right now, but it is something I love to do.
And to round it all out, I have been working hard on my own internet marketing business for about 6 months. My reason for this is to be able to spend more time with my family, be able to travel and see the world, and to fund my ministry!
Am I Willing To Do Whatever It Takes?
Like I said earlier, when you ask this question most people will answer with a resounding “YES,” but sadly it is only a few who actually have the guts to do whatever it takes. I strive to be one of those few!
You know, we all have our stories, our reason why we can’t do something. We all have those things that stand in our way and seems to put a barrier between where we are and where we want to be. We all have our excuses!
I could go on and list some of mine, because, well, I have them too. But rather than do that, can I tell you what I am willing to do?
This Is Crazy!
This is crazy, but since I have started this blog, I now have had 3 different full time jobs. Which I would like to point out is very much unlike me. In the last several years the shortest job I have held has been for 1 year. And the longest has been 5.
But can I tell you that I’m not satisfied working for someone else. My thoughts on having a “job” have changed this past year. It is no longer that I’m trying to find a job that I will be at for the rest of my life.
I now look for a job that will provide me only a few things. Like being able to spend more time with my family and have more time and money to put towards my business.
I will say that my last job (I started a new job today) was the favorite job I’ve had since I worked at FedEx (right after high school). I loved what I did, printing t-shirts, and the people I worked for. As far as the company itself, well, I really like that too.
The problem was it was an hour away. And I worked 10 hours a day plus an hour lunch. So total I was away from home at least 13 hours a day some times more. It might have been only 4 days a week, but on those 4 days I barely got to see my family before it was bed time.
My New Adventure!
While most of my life I have poured concrete, and that’s what I’m doing once more, I have never done this. I started today with a company that does decorative concrete. Something I have always wanted to do. (I can mark that off my bucket list, lol)
But let me tell you why I jumped ship. It wasn’t because I wanted to pour decorative concrete so bad I couldn’t sleep at night. No, it simply will provide me what I’m looking for.
Because this is a local company, I now drive maybe 10 to 15 mins to get to work. I will work shorter hours usually between 8 and 9 hours a day, but because I’m just a few minutes from home it’s not that bad.
Today I was able to spend almost 2 1/2 more hours with my family than I have been able to do previously. I have felt like I’ve been home forever.
And since I’m not driving 120 miles every day, I’m not putting in anywhere close to the amount of gas I was putting in. So that means I will have more money. Money that I will be able to invest in this business.
Am I Willing To Do Whatever It Takes?
It might not be the route a lot of people would take, but in my situation, I’m willing to do the unusual. I’m willing to make a change in my job, so that I can achieve my goals.
