How To Achieve True Time Freedom In Online Marketing

Today’s lesson is about achieving time freedom in your online network marketing business… and there’s a much deeper lesson here on how what you do (or don’t do) can make or break your success.

The reality is, most internet marketers spend long days on their computers building their businesses.  Of course it takes time to get your marketing systems in place and get traffic to your site… so I’m all for doing whatever it takes to make it happen… and then ramping that up to greater success…

…but what I’m talking about here is not creating a “job” for ourselves in the process.

Often Times We Do What We Think Is Best To Boost Our Growth And It Turns Out To Not Be So Good After All.

I discovered this unknowingly when I picked up an additional income stream a few months ago.  I had joined an opportunity where my upline already had a killer training system in place and I decided to only send my new team members there and not offer help or support like I had in my primary business.

My welcome email read:

I initially did that because I was too busy doing my work, answering people on skype, taking calls, and helping my team.  I thought that if I offered my time and energy, it would help them succeed.

The opposite is true… and I’ll tell you why:

My team started growing fast and I wasn’t doing a thing except sending an update email about once a week or so.

Nobody was calling me.  Nobody was skyping me.  I got a couple of emails here and there… and mostly those were people telling me how excited they are or asking questions about this or that… nothing major or time-consuming…

…and my team was still growing and making money!

At first I didn’t “get it” and decided to just roll with it.  Why not right?  What I didn’t fully understand was the “why”.

Your “Help” Can Be Hazardous To Others

Have you ever opened up a cocoon to release a butterfly before it was ready?  How about hatching an egg before it naturally hatches?

If you have, you know that the animal will not survive on its own if you deprive it of challenge and achievement in life.

The same is true with people… and if your message is telling them that you’ll drag their butts across the finish line if they just get in your team…

…they will not likely go through the pain and the struggle that makes people wake up, stand up, and for the first time in their lives actually decide deep down that I’m going to do this come hell or high water.

That’s how you learned how to walk.

They might not reach that boiling point where they say “I am not going to accept this life that I was sold and didn’t choose for myself any longer!”…

…and they might not push harder than they ever have in their lives and emerge victorious;  to stand on top of the mountain and feel unstoppable and say “I did it” when nothing seemed possible before.

If you do for others what they should do for themselves, you rob them of the sense of achievement and the ability to achieve success without you or someone to depend on.

The Secret To Online Marketing Time Freedom

The point of all of this is that if your message conveys to people that they don’t have to do anything or that you’ll make it easier… they will believe they have to have the same message.

They will believe that they have to provide tech support and coaching 24/7 and get strapped to their computer and do what you are doing… which is not enticing to most people!  Who want’s to live like that?

What We Want Is Both Time Freedom And Money Freedom… And We Can Have It.

What I learned from this experience is that while it’s critical to lead by example, point the way, and have a proven training and marketing system in place…

…it’s even more critical that you get out of their way, build your business and allow for the natural growth and development of leaders on your team.  The ones who really truly desire it will “show up” and participate… and the ones who quit… well you saved a lot of time and energy with people who don’t have it in them… and that’s what this is all about!

Make the decision to create time freedom in your business… and lead by living the example.  A simple adjustment in your message can make a huge difference!

With that said… as soon as I publish this post I’ve put in just over an hour of “work” today and I’m done!  I can walk away knowing that my system does the rest!
