A triathlete finishes a race with a flat tyre costing him twenty minutes, heads straight for a beer, and then explains why the beer is not a betrayal of the training. That mixture of discipline and cheerfulness runs through the whole blog, and it makes the traffic advice easier to take.

That advice arrives as a numbered series stretching well past a dozen parts, working through how a blog gets found, with search treated as a slow craft rather than as a trick.

The sport posts are genuinely useful if you race. He shows how to buy running shoes without being sold them, and how to recover after an Olympic distance event. How somebody with a job and children still trains gets its own answer.

He writes about being a father on Saturdays and about the power of intention with his daughter, and those are the ones that stay with you.

Racers should start with the recovery post. Bloggers can begin at part one and keep going.
