Truth or Hype? A Scientific Approach

Four men sitting at a small card table on hard metal folding chairs, each with a small vial of clear liquid sitting in front of them.
They have known each other since college and had been hand picked for this experiment. They were told that at least one of the people in the room would receive a vial that contained a truth serum so potent that telling a lie could lead to severe nausea and other sordid side effects. The others contained sugar water, placebos. Each was going to be allowed to ask the friend sitting to their left one question, only one question to try to get a truth out of them that they felt had not come out before.
“This is a bunch of crap, why did we agree to do this?” asked one of the friends
“What’s the matter? You afraid of telling the truth? That’s all you have to do and nothing will happen” said another of the friends.
“Just don’t get the point, I’ve always been honest with you guys.”
“Then you got nothing to worry about.”
The scientist asked the four of them to pick up their vials and consume them. Each of them looked at the other three, desperately hoping that the others would not go through with it. None blinked, all of them drank.
“Now” said the scientist, holding a clipboard and readjusting his glasses on his nose “One at a time you will ask the man to your left just one question that you think that he might have been lying about in the past. Let’s start with you” pointing at one of the men.
The man looked at his friend on his left for a few minutes, then nodded his head slightly. He asked him “Remember that frat party we went to in college when Tony’s girl got crazy drunk, passed out and then went missing for a while? Did you know what happened to her or did you lie to the police that night.”
His friend opened his eyes wide, looked down at his hands and then across the table at his other friends and said, “No man, I didn’t know what happened that night, not until the police told me about it the next day.” They all stared at him as sweat beads started forming on his forehead.
“You OK?” one of them asked him
The man jumped up from the table and stumbled across the room to a large garbage container and began vomiting into it uncontrollably.
“Aww!! That’s ….oh geez! Is he going to be OK?” he looked at the scientist.
“He’ll be fine once he stops, let’s keep going”
“But we already know who got the truth serum, why would we keep going?”
“Because I said that AT LEAST one person was going to be getting the truth serum. There may or may not be more.”
“You’re sick!”
The three friends looked at each other and continued. One by one a question was asked and answered and each time the garbage can was used to catch enormous amounts of vomit. All four of them had answered a question and all four of them got uncontrollably sick.
After a few minutes of sitting at the table and drinking water, and trying to avert each others glares, one of them spoke up. “What the hell did that prove? You gave all four of us the truth serum and we all ended up getting sick. So we all lied, what does that prove?”
The scientist put down his clipboard and smiled, “it proves that the mind does not need any kind of synthetic stimulus to report that you are lying. None of you got the truth serum.”
“But you said that at least one of us was getting it”
“No, I said one person in the room would get it. I drank it, you all had sugar water.”
All four of them stared at the scientist with their mouths opened and eyebrows furrowed.
“You made yourself sick trying to hide your lies, your mind was your truth serum”
Just a quick story about the power of the mind that I made up a while ago, but isn’t it the truth? The one person that will always know that you are lieing….is YOU. And it IS enough to make you sick!
One thing that we know is not a lie is that we found an ultimate system to make money online. It is changing the lives of thousands of people around the world and can change your life as well, if you are willing to follow the system and be true to it.

Mark, Great story it just goes to show how powerful the mind is. Was it Napoleon Hill that said if you think you can you are right. And if you think you can’t you’re still right.
The truth will always set you free! Love your made up story, Mark. Keep up the great work!
