Dusting Off The Notebook; The Original Vision

I have been going through my notebook that I have been taking notes in since we started in Internet Marketing.

In the beginning

Back in the very beginning, I wrote this:

I, Mark Eaves, having just started with iPAS2 and Empower NetworkMy dog buddy Charlie is laying at my feet staring at me like usual.

I see myself spending more time with people in recovery, helping them, being able to spend time with them. All of this of course keeping me on a steady course of recovery

I see myself paying down all of our debt, while still being able to give my family more than what we need to live comfortably. I see myself spending time reconnecting with my wife, my son, and my daughter.

I see us being able to travel to live events and continue to learn from those that went before me, so that I can be able to share the knowledge that I have accumulated with others that want to enjoy and learn this new way of living.

Need to update this?

Nope, I don’t think so. Just in the past couple months, we have seen some success in our business and are still very excited about the potential that the internet offers.

I have been able to spend a lot of time over the past year with others in recovery, helping anyone that asks for help, attending multiple AA meetings per day when possible so that I always make myself available. The one thing that I learned over my 30 year struggle with addiction is that the only way that I am going to get better, is if I help others. The amazing thing that I have learned is that internet marketers seem to have the same mentality. We are all in this together and everyone seems to go out of their way to help others whenever possible. At least the successful ones seem to have that mindset.

The debt is coming down and will continue to come down, there is no doubt in my mind. We are living all together again, where as we had actually been apart for about 6 months so that Michelle and I could work on ourselves more intensely. I don’t recommend this for everyone, but it was something that we had to do and it has paid off in huge dividends. Today our marriage is stronger than it has ever been, I would say and I believe that Michelle would agree, that it is much stronger than at any time in the past 20 years. 

My relationship with my entire family is better now than it has ever been, and it is mostly because I am now able to spend quality time with them. I was a raging workaholic on top of all the other addictions that controlled my life, so I was gone 6 or 7 days a week from 7 AM until well past 10 PM every night. That is how I thought that one becomes successful, and I know that a lot of you out there think this as well. It is NOT how you become successful. Even if you do work your way up some corporate ladder, who is going to be there to enjoy all that success with? 

Live events are so important to us, we went to the first one in Las Vegas and as soon as the tickets were made available to those of us at the event, we bought 5!!! Yes, 5. Because we are going to be bringing team members with us. We made that commitment that night and will see it through. As for the knowledge being shared, that is what this blog is about. We write posts about what we are learning as we go along, taking notes on everything.

One of the very first things we did was to write out our visions and goals, in fact we have them taped up to the bathroom mirror in our bedroom and I read them at least twice a day. In fact our son told me the other day that he read the goals, and he really likes the direction that we would like to take this family.
