HORSE RACING

Are you interested in Horse Racing?

I wasn’t but my husband has always followed the horses from when he was very young.
A few years ago, he expressed an interest in buying into a horse, and, as we were in a position to do so, we investigated and bought our first share.

A few of our friends wanted to join us.
I was elected Manager, and our first small Syndicate was born.
I now manage 5 syndicates. It’s great fun.

Horse syndication is a wonderful way for the ‘Everyday Joe’ to be able to purchase a share in a horse.
There are many choices out there to cater for various budgets.

Over the last 8 years, we have been lucky enough to share in many horses with leading Australian trainers such as
Lee Freedman, David Hayes, Robbie Griffiths, Mark Kavanagh and Peter Moody.

We currently have 5 horses.

Four are  in training – 3 with Mark Kavanagh and 1 with Peter Moody.

It will be a very busy few months ahead for us.

Horse Racing is great for Everyone.

Our first win for this season was yesterday in Seymour.
As we live 4.5 hours away, it was an early start for us.

As the rest of the nation focussed on Adelaide and our
Australian heroine – Black Caviar, we enjoyed a superb autumn day in the Australian bush at a wonderful little racecourse which was extremely picturesque.

Our horse is called “Ride a Rock Horse’, trained by Peter Moody.
He won the first race.

Many members of our Horse Racing Syndicate were there but we also met such a wonderful bunch of other owners.
We all clicked immediately – as if we’d all known each other for ages.

This is the beauty of being part of the the Horse Racing
Industry.

While we may not be high-flyers, it brings like-minded people together for a great day out.

As he passed the Finish Line, the grandstand exploded with cheers and applause.
There was much hugging and back-slapping. What a buzz!!

In fact, I am still on a ‘high’.
I think it’s the effect of the celebratory champagne !!!!
