What Is My Purpose?!

My name is Leonard Jessie Creel Jr. I was born in Baltimore Maryland, which is in the United States of America. I am 28 years old.
I worked as a guitar builder from 2006-2011. In 2008 I remember staring at a pile of guitars I had sanded, and a pile of guitars that I was going to sand and a thought, an emotion, and a series of questions entered my mind.
As I looked down at the pile of guitars that I had already sanded, and the pile of guitars that I was going to sand a feeling took me. I asked myself:
“Is this all there is in life for me?”
I looked at the pile of guitars and said “ What is my purpose?”
And while staring frustrated and confused I asked myself another question….
“Is there something better in life for me and what I’m doing right now.
The first question, “is this all there is in life for me?” frustrated and angered me. Was I really just assigned to work a job with my hands, the same thing day in and day out, over and over and over again with no higher purpose or calling?
That was frustrating, and it led me to my next question.
“what is my purpose?” which confused the hell out me. I remember even posing the question to a higher power, what am I supposed to do? What was my purpose in life? On top of the frustration, the confusion of contemplating my purpose left me thinking where in the whatamahusit do I go with this?
And as I looked down at that rack of sanded guitars and on the rack of guitars yet to be sanded I asked myself one more question.
“Is there something out there for me in life that’s better than what I’m doing right now?” Is there something that could help me answer my questions about purpose, and could I live a better life doing that?
The two questions before left me in haze of frustration and confusion, but this question was different and there was a definite and absolute answer, and the answer was yes. I really had no clue what I was to do or how I would live a more fulfilling life on purpose;
I just simply KNEW IT WAS THERE for me. I just had to find it, and take it. And like all good folks out there living there life on purpose, give back later.
I stood there looking at the pile of wood and was still confused and frustrated but knew in my heart that there absolutely was something out there that needed my help. There was a service that I needed to provide. And there was a better life worth living outside of my own well constructed bubble that I had made for myself.
I went back to work with these thoughts swimming around my mind, branching off into other ideas about what that purpose could be. Poetry, singing, and even guitar playing were some of my first ideas…
But if you want to know more about my story, and where that story goes in all of it’s raw, pure, organic, and shameless way….
