In a few weeks I am off to Washington, D.C and here are a few places I want to go and visit, and a bit of information on these places.
The Smithsonian Institution In Washington, D.C
The Smithsonian Institution is a large group of Museums, of many different types. I have done some research on the Smithsonian and a few museums have caught my eye!
The National Air and Space Museum In Washington, D.C
I have always been a fan of aircrafts and spacecraft’s, so this is probably the museum in Washington, D.C that I’m looking forward to the most, it holds the largest collection of aircraft and spacecraft in the world!
Many of the exhibits are from the United States Army and United States Navy, domestic and captured aircraft from World War I.
So when we head to Washington D.C that’s what I will be looking forward to a lot!
National Museum of American History In Washington, D.C
I’m interested in this museum simply because history is fascinating, and from what I have seen it seems pretty awesome. The Museum opened in 1964 and was originally called The Museum of History and Technology, the museum was renamed The National Museum of American History in 1990. I would very much like to check this museum out.
The Lincoln Memorial
The Lincoln Memorial is a statue to honor the 16th president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. Located on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
Construction began on February 12, 1914 and was completed in 1922, being dedicated on May 30, 1922.
I have always wanted to see the Lincoln Memorial, Abraham Lincoln was indeed a very great man, the Memorial was built after his death, and Abraham Lincoln was assassinated. It’s very sad and very strange that many of the great people in this world are assassinated.
International Spy Museum
The International Spy Museum is another museum I would like to see in Washington, D.C, it looks and sounds very interesting. The museum was built by Milton Maltz & the House on F Street, L.L.C. and it cost around 40 million dollars! It is one of the few museums that charge admission fees.
The Washington Monument
The Washington Monument is a very tall obelisk on the National Mall inWashington, D.C, and The Monument is made of marble, granite, and bluestone gneiss. The Monument was built commemorate George Washington, commander-in-chief of the Continental Army and the first American president.
The Washington Monument is the world’s tallest obelisk, standing at 555 feet 5 1⁄8 inches (169.294 m).
