Business, A Force For Good.

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

When you think of going into business, what are the main thoughts that occur to you?

Start up capital, profit and loss, dealing with employees, having enough product, taxes, having enough knowledge, marketing, shipping and distribution, ordering, management, business hours, customer service, web sites, capture pages, autoresponders, banking and merchant services, wages or salarys, commission payouts etc etc etc. The list is literally endless but it all hovers around what you want to get out of your new business and how all the working parts will help you to achieve that.

What if your goal was not geared toward just making a profit. What if you ignored conventional business etiquette and instead of manipulating all the working parts and people of your business to squeeze as much production and profit out with the least amount of overhead possible, what if you instead concentrated on teaching all your people to become the best leaders in their respective areas by helping them get the best training in that field, by encouraging them to become the best they can be not only through specialised training in their jobs but also with added self development training. What about adding incentive with bonus commissions on every product or service sold on top of a good wage, what about including their ideas and opinions in weekly masterminds, what about recognition for stepping up and out of the comfort zone and putting service to others first, what about offering respect and consideration in return for the same.

Imagine this to be true and as a result your business not only does well but it soars, it flys way above the competition in sales and production AND all your team members are happy and fulfilled, they have purpose therefore they have drive. Your dream of opening multiple stores is suddenly a reality and the people you have taken so much care to develop as leaders are now stepping up to lead your new businesses using the approach you used from the start as a benchmark.

Your goal was to provide excellent products and services that themselves provided lasting value for a great price, check. You wanted people working with you that had belief in what they were doing as well as themselves, that were willing to push themselves to excellence with the right support, check. You wanted to help people become leaders and cultivate their potentials not make them into mindless robots, check. You wanted to create a nurturing environment for people to grow in, check. You wanted to be successful in all areas, double check.

If we approached business with this kind of mindset we would have happier, more fulfilled people populating this world, we would have better quality products and services, we would have better cashflow, we would crush the competition into oblivion and weed out those with no integrity or ambition. To have a business be a cause for good it must step out of the norm because the norm is smothered with wretchedness, there is a smile on the snakes face and no good comes from it. To be a business with a cause for good every area must have a win/win approach for everyone, cut no corners, give extreme value and you will receive extreme value, it is the law of the universe.
