Top Ten Books For Self Development

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

My personal choices for the top ten books for self development.

Self development is a journey and one not to be taken lightly. As we grow up we gather information from all around us but mostly from those who have a direct and consistent influence on our lives. This is not necessarily a good thing, we pick up the habits of others because we are in learning mode right from day dot and those habits may not be good ones so as we get older and start to make our own way in the world it is a really good idea to take stock of the habits we have formed and ask the important question: Do these habits serve me in a good way? If not then it is time to make some changes. The following are my personal favourite top ten books for self development. These books have helped me in every area of my life in some profound way.

Self Development Book One

Excuse Me, Your Life Is Waiting by Lynn Grabhorn – I found this book at a flea market, I had never heard of it before but it got my attention straight away and it is without question the best book that has made the most sense and given me the most value for my life that I have ever come across, bar none.

Self Development Book Two

Think And Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill – The most read and most hailed self development book in the industry and as essential as this book is to your development, in my opinion, it lacks a vital ingredient that Excuse Me, Your Life Is Waiting provides in buckets. These two books compliment each other well, one written from the male point of view and the other written my the female point of view.

Self Development Book Three

The Cashflow Quadrant by Robert Kiyosaki – A must in any library and for financial education in todays world. My biggest problem growing up was that I had no idea about money and this caused a multitude of problems. This is a common problem in the world and can be remedied easily by reading books of this caliber.

Self Development Book Four

Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki – The perfect compliment to The Cashflow Quadrant. Robert is a master story teller and it is through stories that we learn lesson better. Experiences teaches more value than statistics.

Self Development Book Five

The Richest Man In Babylon by George Clason – Money sense taught on a slightly different level. This story starts almost at the beginning of time but the lessons taught here are just as relevant today as they were then. A wonderful tale with a very powerful message.

Self Development Book Six

The Four Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss – A book of immense value for anyone who is looking for time and money freedom, an entrepreneurs goldmine of ideas and strategies to leverage time and money to work better for you so you can do what you really want to do in life.

Self Development Book Eight

Self Development

Twelve Pillars by Jim RohnThe master business philosopher, Jim Rohn dedicated his life to helping people understand what it takes to be successful in business and in life.

Self Development Book Nine

Mindset by Jay Kubassek – This book came as part of a package I bought when I first looked into learning how to market online, I am not sure you can buy it publicly but if you contact Jay through his website he may have a solution. One of the major keys to success in any area is mindset and Jays way of outlining the importance and relevance of this in this book is nothing short of brilliant.
