I grew up in the 80′s and listened to Van Halen… Yes, both the Sammy Hagar band and the David Lee Roth Van Halen. You can pick which you prefer, but I do have a preference of voice…..Hagar…:)
Hagar’s got a lot more of a pure tone that Roth. Roth, entertaining though for sure.
Anyway, I’m not here to debate rock bands, I’m here to talk about dreams.
Let’s take a look at the first verse:

Leave it all behind
When you chase your dreams you many have to leave something behind. You’ve gotta focus on your dreams. Focus on your goals, Focus on what you want because no body’s going to care except you as you’re going through the tough times.
In life there are so many opportunities for you to lose sight of your dreams. You’re told in school to follow this path, or you can only do this because you came from here. Or even better, you don’t have enough money so you can’t get that….
All that is honestly Bullshit. We have to stop telling out kids to chase the ‘practical’ and we have to stop chasing the practical Because if you settle for what’s practical, you’ll only get average.
Do you want to be average? Honestly answer that question… do you?
I didn’t think so. Who sets out in life thinking…well, I’ll just to a half ass job here and maybe I’ll get paid and then I’ll get to go home and do it all over again tomorrow to be average.
Everyone has an extraordinary person in them. You have to find your fire. You have to find your drive that makes your dreams come true… THAT’S WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF!

Be strong. Face your fears. Dry your eyes and go after your goals, your dreams and live. Stop letting someone else tell you that you can’t. If they’re stuck where they are at, that’s on them. That’s their decision to stay broke, poor, sad, stuck and living a life they hate.
Get out and live!
Life is too short….
