Help, I’ve fallen and I can’t get up!

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

How many of you remember that commercial or have seen it recently?

Where the elderly person falls, and needs to get to a phone, but cannot. I don’t mean to knock on the commercial, but there’s more people than the elderly that need it.

I’ve done it. I’ve fallen, not literally, but figuratively. I’ve had situations where something has knocked me down, in my business, my career, my life, and I needed the life alert system to help me get backup….

Here’s a quick video about my son, who not only fell, but was the barrier between me and the road as I fell on top of him.

There’s a story in this. Here’s a 9 year old who was determined to go on a bike ride and wasn’t going to let a fall, scraped leg and elbow keep him from doing just that.

As I look back in my life, I realize that there have been times when I’ve ‘fallen’ and I didn’t get up. I just stayed down. The hit that I took I thought was too big to get backup.

As I look back on those situations now, I realize how stupid I was. It was easier to stay down that it was to get back up. Obviously, I didn’t want the girl bad enough to get up. Or I didn’t want the job bad enough to get back up. Or I didn’t want to be successful in a business because I didn’t get back up…

This is what I feel like when I think about the person that I was:

Notice I said WAS…Now I’m taking action, getting stuff done and making waves. Setbacks are only lessons. If I don’t get back up, I’ve lost. If I get back up, learn, apply… I win.

Life is full of these lessons if we take note and learn from them. If we just stay down on the floor and don’t get up, nothing will change.

I invite you go get backup! Get back in the game! Do what you need to do to get on your feet, dust yourself off and finish what you started.

We finished the bike rid above covering 10 miles. And he was on a single speed 12″ bike, so he had to work hard to cover the ground, and he did it, and didn’t complain about the crapes or his dad landing on him.

There’s motivation for you to get back in the game. If you’re down and out of ideas for your business, your marketing, maybe it’s time to take a look at things a bit differently.

You’ll no longer be saying ‘help, I’ve fallen and can’t get up’. You’ll be helping others get back up!

“If you help enough people get what you want, you’ll realize your dreams”

I want to help you get back up. Find your way, and the team that I’m on along with the system we’re using, will be your padding all around you so that when you fall, you’ll be able to lean on others that will help you get back up.

Then you’ll find yourself being the one lending a hand. This will be you with your hand out, helping someone up!

Get in, get started and remember:
TAKE ACTION and Never Stop Learning!
