If you have never had peanut butter bars, then you are really in for a nice surprise. I have an ongoing story here with peanut butter, and if you have missed any of it, just go back through my previous posts and you will see what I am talking about.

I am going to share with you my favorite recipe for peanut butter bars, with just the right combination peanut butter and chocolate.

What You’ll Need to Make my Mind Blowing Peanut Butter Bars!

Although some recipes say butter or margarine, I am going to tell you that butter is where it’s at! So, to make my peanut butter bars, you will need 1 cup of butter already melted, and 2 cups of graham cracker crumbs.

You can use the plain crust, or in my case, I do appreciate the chocolate graham crackers!
You need 2 cups of confectioner’s sugar, 1 cup of peanut butter, 1 ½ cups of chocolate chips, semisweet or your choice, and 4 more tablespoons of peanut butter. Ready to mix?

Instructions on How to Make my Peanut Butter Bars

To get started you will need to grab a medium to large size mixing bowl. You should start by mixing the melted butter and the graham cracker crumbs, confectioner’s sugar, and 1 cup of peanut butter until you get a smooth mixture.

Once you get it blended, you will need to take the mixture and press it down into the pan to form a crust for the bars. It’s always best if you use an ungreased pan that measures at about 9 x 13.

Now, to melt the chocolate chips, you will need to use a double boiler, or you can create one using two saucepans. One will be used to boil the water, and the other will be stacked on top to melt the chocolate chips.

You will need to melt these chocolate chips with the peanut butter, and stir everything together as it melts. This will give you a smooth, creamy consistency. Once blended, simply spread the mixture over the crust in the pan.

You will then need to let it sit for at least one hour in the refrigerator to chill and firm up before cutting.

This is yet just another great peanut butter bars recipe that goes along with some of the others that you don’t have to bake in the oven.

A Variation on My Peanut Butter Bars

So, it has been said that there are two kinds of chocolate in this world, and of course, that person was right. With dark and white chocolate, you can mix them together if you wish, or you can use just the white chocolate chips if you want something altogether different.

You can also add some mini peanut butter chips to the mixture, but the result is quite rich and tasty! So, what recipe or variation will you choose?
