Jonathan here posting again with a bit of help for those of you in our EN Global Success team who are not sure what to start Blogging about.
First, it may surprise you to know that Blogging has been one of my main forms of marketing for over 10 years now.
After all the hours and HOURs or work not to mention money invested in my personal blog I can tell you right now you have no idea how lucky you are to have a word press blog all set up for you, and ready for you just like this one to just start posting on.
What I love most about Blogging is it is simple.
Well the act of posting is simple.
You just click on ‘Add New‘ within your Blog Dash Board and then write your post and then click that cute blue Publish button, and hey presto your post is live for the world to see on your Blog for all time.
Think of every single post you do like one soldier out there marketing for you 24/7, who never gets tired and never gets old.
Take the time to blog daily, and over time eventually you will get to the stage that your blog will get all the traffic you could ever want each day even if you did not do another post again!
Powerful!
The part that stops so many people from Blogging is the hard part with Blogging which has always been getting your head around the technical side of things.
How to install a blog, what hosting to get, what to call your blog, what Theme to use and install, knowing what plug ins to install, and what not to install, how to do SEO and the list goes on and on – this is expensive too!
So let’s start having some fun.
Your first step is to log into your Empower Network members area – you know how to do that.
Once in then click on My Training and go back into the Fast Start Training again.
You don’t have to worry about opt in graphics etc as your blog is all set up with the opt in graphics on it as you can see right here on mine.
These banners are automatically connected with your EN Lead Capture pages so that when people start reading your posts they can click on the banners and opt into your
List.
With that out of the way, what’s a good first post to write about?
Dave says on Lesson Two a good first post is to write about is why you decided to join the Empower Network.
Before you write your first post you may want to personalise your Blog a bit. To help you pop your photo on your Blog like I have with mine look in the team support email you would have received me from me. I attached a text doc with extra blogging tips to help you customize your Blog so it’s personalised to you.
The text doc will also give you the answers to the most common questions we get from new people starting to use there Blog for the first time so you know what to do.
Accessing your Blog is really simple as well, when you log into your Blog dash board from within your EN members back office you will be able to click to preview your post.
If it helps your blog looks exactly like mine here and the actual link for it is like mine below only instead of jthopkins it has your EN Username.
My Blog Link is:- /jthopkins/
Again your Blog link is the same only instead of jthopkins it will have your EN username.
Don’t worry about your first post being perfect. Just do what Dave says on Lesson two as when you complete the rest of the fast start training videos they will give you even more advice on how to Blog effectively.
Once you have done your first post then give yourself a big pat on the back.
You will also want to “ping” your post to give it some extra steam.
Go to and put in the full title of your post like…
Christie Brinkley at 27 and 57
Then the FULL URL of that particular post like in this case…
http://www.empowernetwork.com/jthopkins/blog/christie-brinkley-at-27-and-57/?id=jthopkins
Select a category and click it! Wait until it says it’s finished.
I joined Pingler.com so I can put in 50 URLs and they ping them automatically for me every 3 days.
So what you do is every time you post, you then ping your post and after that you can chill out and listen to an Inner Circle audio if you want too.
Yes Blogging is that simple.
You don’t need to know any ninja tricks.
When Dave says good content will always rank with the search engines this is true so you don’t have to make it any harder that it needs to be – just keep blogging every day until it becomes second nature to you.
In regards to what else to Blog about, the only limit is your imagination.
You can blog about anything you want, your business, about Empower Network, about the audios you listen to in the back office, about the products in your back office.
You can blog about your favourite Musicians, about your hobby or a Sport you love.
You can blog about your family and your friends.
You can blog about books you have read and movies you have seen.
All that matters is that you make a committment to Blog daily like I am doing now as that is where the magic will be, in blogging consistantly which will over time bring more traffic to your blog.
Since your Blog has been optimized to make sales this traffic will have the best chance of converting into leads and then sales for you too.
As you start building a team you can even do what I do as use your Blog as a place to train your team.
Answer in a post common questions you get from your team members.
Once you are comfortable with blogging and can blog daily in your sleep then you can take your blogging to the next level and get stuck into your 15K formula product.
Your 15K Formula product will teach you more advanced blogging strategies but that is not something you have to do right away.
In fact, once you have done your first post and pinged it (I’ve emailed you the places to ping your posts) and have customized your Blog with the blogging tips I emailed you as well then get stuck into your Fast Start Lesson 3 which will tell you more about how to market with your Blog.
In fact Lesson 3 is a general great training on marketing alone.
The rest of the lessons as you go through them will help you understand just how powerful a method blogging is, and why it really is a MUST HAVE skill if you are serious about succeeding online.
I seriously could write a whole post on why Blogging is a must have skill so don’t be surprised if that comes down your way soon.
I hope this helps and if you haven’t done so yet, subscribe to my RSS feed as more trainings will be coming your way soon!
