Zeek Rewards Shut Down – Update

As many of you are aware of, Zeek Rewards was shut down on Friday.  The first report came out that this was a company decision.  Employees were taking boxes out of their main office in Lexington,N.C.  so the thought was that this was just to answer the charges that the State Attorney’s office of N.C. placed on Zeek Rewards for some complains that they received about the companies business practices.

However, as the day progressed news reports turned grim.  Now the SEC and the Secret Service were investigating the matter.  Now the Federal Government came on the stage and things started to get bad for this company and it’s affiliates.

Zeek Rewards Shut Down – Update

By the end of the day the dregged words “Ponzi Scheme” were uddered about Zeek Rewards and blogger sphere became a feeding grounds.  Then the final nail came down on Zeek Rewards coffin.  Whether or not Zeek Rewards was a Ponzi scheme or not will never be known to the public and especially to all the affiliates who may have brought into this program.  By the government just saying those words the ability of Zeek Rewards to survive began their death sentence.

And since the companies owner, Paul Burkes, signed an aggreement with the government, although he did ot admit any fault, the closing of this company will probably be a done deal.
Whether this was the government overreaching, something that they have done before, or really a Ponzi scheme, we will probable never know.  Some would say that the government gets in the way of business too many times, but in the recent years with so many financial schemes being committment, Big Brother is watching more and more on how business function.

Zeek Rewards Shut Down – Update

Now I was in Zeek Rewards and didn’t buy too much but I did have some experience with the company.  Mostly I had a wonderful sponsor who really worked hard at building the business.  These are the people that I feel sorry for and I hope that they get all the money back that they put into this company.
