I’m sure you will find a ton of information on how eating before bed can have a negative impact on you. Personally, I’ve experienced some really bad side effects. The main reason I’m writing this post is to address why it is something you should stop doing immediately.
Eating Before Bed Keeps You Exhausted
I’m sure that you will be able to relate. But in the past, every time I ate before I went to sleep, I could sleep for anywhere from 8 to 12 hours and still wake up exhausted. If you didn’t know, whether you under sleep or over sleep you will wake up tired. But this was not the case. I actually would wake up exhausted regardless.
This helped me understand that eating before bed was destroying my ability to get my “beauty” sleep. I would just want to go back to sleep but I couldn’t. This was not only happening to me, but to everyone I talked to that did the same thing.
The reason is actually quite simple to understand when you understand how the body works. You see, every time you eat, your body has to put forth a ton of effort to digest the food. This digestion process can easily take 2 hours. It may take more if you are not active. The point is that if you eat and then go to sleep, you will not get any rest because your body is still working digesting the food.
Your mind may be completely out of this world but your body is going to be completing its duty of digestion.
Eating Before Bed May Cause Nightmares
Countless times I’ve experienced nightmares after going to sleep after I ate. At first, I could not link it up. I thought that I had nightmares because of scary movies or other factors that happened through out my day. But even after I completely quit watching scary movies, it was still happening.
You may think this to be ridiculous but I have a friend who is always eating before bed and he tells me the weirdest things. He tells me about some weird creatures and even witches that appear to him that actually look real. This is no joke. I know that a lot of it has to do with his habit of the food he eats at bed time.
I’ve even heard from some of my family members and even church members the same thing. They have told me that when they eat at night and go to sleep they dream with some off the wall stuff. I don’t know if you can relate at this point. I guess its because your stomach is working all night and if you don’t know about digestion learn this. When your body digests, it takes most of your body’s resources to get the job done. The resources includes brain power. I hope this is making sense to you. If not, re-read this. This is information that MOST people know nothing about.
Eating Before Bed Destroys Your Body
Now that you understand a little of how the body digests, you can now easily understand this blog post. You see, your body has a certain amount of shared resources. It’s resources are shared for all of your bodily functions. From using your brain to think to using your hands and feet. But what happens when you eat?
When you eat, most of the body’s resources have to be concentrated on digesting the food. Most people just don’t get this point. That means that the more you eat, the more resources your body needs to use. So if you eat like a Summa wrestler, your body has to spend an enormous amount of energy to digest. If you eat a little then it will use less energy. Its that simple.
So how does it destroy it? The body is like a car. The more you use it the more you degrade the value. Just like the human body, you can maintain it to be able to work more efficient but even with regular maintenance on a car it will eventually die. Well, our bodies began dying the second we were born. The only thing we can do is delay its death. Simply put, the more your body has to struggle to digest your food, the more you degrade the value of your body.
I hope that you understood this. If you did, share this valuable information with everyone. One thing I know is that a lot of people today are suffering because they are eating before bed and no one is telling them why.
