Practicing Patience Works Wonders!

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

Wow, have I got a great example of practicing patience and why it is essential to your success! I, like any other person, can get frustrated and upset with certain things at times. This was pretty evident last night when a particular company I represent was having a conference call. The Empower Network had a conference call last night in which the call was PACKED out to the MAX! With that taking place, it made it VERY difficult for the moderators to get access into the call as the call was supposed to begin. This made for plenty of frustrated members waiting on a call for roughly 12 to 15 minutes while hearing random presidential candidate blurt outs among other things. At multiple times during this period I felt the need to just give up on the call and hang up. Well, I decided to NOT do that, and I’m glad I didn’t.

Why Practicing Patience Always Works!

It was the exact moment that I was ready to take my finger and press the “end” button when David Sharpe began the call. Now I’m not 100% sure of this, but I’m pretty positive that many people decided to hop off of that call due to the technical difficulties. I was nearly one of them, but staying patient and waiting just a little bit longer was well worth it. This call was one of the best conference calls I have been on! It was at that moment when he started the call that it truly hit me. We all hear that patience is a virtue. Not everyone can handle the idea of practicing patience. This is ESPECIALLY true in this day and age. Instant gratification has taken over our world over the last couple of decades! If a person can’t get it RIGHT NOW, then they don’t want it. You can place food in a microwave and get it in like one minute. You have the Fast Food industry where if they take longer than 2 minutes to give you your food then there’s an issue. We have cell phones with instant text messaging, online communication, etc. We can now talk to someone from an entire different part of the world with the click of a mouse!

If You Don’t Practice Patience There’s a Good Chance You’ll Fail.

I personally believe that for this reason, people think that they can jump in a business opportunity and strike it rich overnight literally. Well it doesn’t quite work like that. You absolutely MUST practice patience. I’ve heard people say things like,

“I’ve talked to everyone I know and been in this thing for two weeks now. I still haven’t made any money. This thing doesn’t work!”

This is completely ridiculous if you ask me. If you are going to start a business, you must treat it like a business and not some thing. That is the first step. Now if you know anything about business, you know that it takes the average traditional business about 5 years until they finally begin to make profit. Now with the Network Marketing/MLM structured business model this 5 year period can be GREATLY reduced, but it still takes time. Unless you plan on hitting the lotto, becoming an instant millionaire overnight is not gonna happen for you. I apologize if I just stole your dream, but that means it’s time for you to make changes in your mind.

Make the decision to work consistently with your business for 5 years! If you do this, it is inevitable that you will see your success come around at some point in time. DO NOT get off the call before it starts! The moment you do is the moment you miss out on your opportunity. Always and forever continue practicing patience to acquire the results you aspire for.
