Why Your Business Needs a Blog

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

More business is taking place online every year. Even traditional brick and mortar businesses are expanding to include online platforms. Let’s face it, when you need something, the first thing you do is Google it. Why not let this trend start working for you?

Here’s what a blog can do for your business….

A blog shares information. You can use it to share knowledge about your field or your products. A hairstylist can share inside information on the new and upcoming styles. They can share tips and tricks to make your hair look amazing. Dentists can use it share their recommended products for keeping your teeth white. They can let you know about new procedures that will have your teeth looking their best. A person who sells beauty supplies can review their products, show people how to apply the products, and give recommendations on the skin types each item is best for. A blog is all about giving that behind the scenes peek to customers.

A blog lets you STAND OUT from the others in your field. You stand out because you’re providing valuable information and because a blog allows you to become known to your reader. You become their go-to for questions and product reviews. You build a trust with them that others in your field don’t have.

A blog lets you build an email list. They have an idea of the information and the products you have and they like them. An email list gives them a chance to get more of what they already like. They get to be the first to know about new products, upcomming sales, and promotional events. Being added to your list can give them VIP access to what’s going on with your company. And SUPER Bonus…it keeps you on their mind when they need your product.

Blogs build relationships.A blog gives them a chance to see you and get an idea of who you are. You become that friend they go to for advice in that area. It lets you build trust. Trust is super important, because people prefer to buy from those they know and trust. It puts you ahead of the game in sales because where most people are starting from scratch at the time of the sales interaction, you are starting as a trusted ally.

The final and (in my opinion) the best thing a blog can do for your business is it works for you 24/7!! Your blog can tell people about products any time day or night. Whenever someone is looking for the information it’s there representing you. And if you have an online store, your blog is making sales for you. Or it’s booking appointments. Imagine coming into your office to find a list of people who WANT you to call them. Or waking up to discover that you made money while you were sleeping. That’s a pretty amazing feeling.

Get your own done for you authority blog here and watch your success grow.
