From one confession to another

I love logging into my account and reading my team blogs. But I confess I have also slipped a bit on the marketing front. Unfortunately I don’t have a lovely holiday excuse 🙂 but we were sick with the flu for 4 weeks. So I am back with a plan to get going again –
1. One paid marketing strategy daily (Facebook or banner ads)
2. Three blog articles or video blog a week
3. Two emails a week.
Lets ramp this up!

Reblogged From Getting back on the horse, a mummy confession
Well hello there stranger!
Victoria here, aka the Aussie Entrepreneur Mum, back from a 5 week hiatus, the holiday we’ve fondly named “The EPIC Holiday” – 5 weeks in Europe, 8 different locations, 7 international flights, 5 different languages, 2 little girls, and overall one exhausted but satisfied family 🙂
It was an experience I’ll never forget but in my true “forge ahead style” I came home with big plans….
* lose the 5+ kilos I put on “eating my way around the world” (hey, don’t judge me until you’ve lived accross the road from a Parisian bakery!!)
* get my online/home business cranking again!
I confess that my best intentions of blogging whilst on holidays were shortsighted. Sharing a room with your entire family for 5 weeks doesn’t leave room for a whole lot of “mummy time”; so although I’d left some measures in place to keep my business going in my abscense (paid online advertising and automated emails), I really hadn’t done enough to be able to take the foot off the pedal altogether…
…needless to say, my business has suffered.
It’s no shock, I expected it would, so on my arrival I had big plans to get “stuck back in”…….but Harper (1 yrs old) hasn’t adjust to the new time zone as well as she did going over and has decided that 12 – 4am is as good a play time as any.
Then she got the flu.
Now I have the flu.
So mentally I moved all plans to “NEXT WEEK”.
Then I Realised, I was Doing It Again!
Have you ever made a deal with yourself ..
“When I achieve this, then I’ll do this”
Or, “when this happens, Ill do this”.
It’s usually along the lines of… “when I have more money, I’ll invest in my education or I’ll start that business”…
OR “when I understand how to do it, or when I’m great at doing it then Ill give it a go”…
The problem with making deals with “WHEN” is that “WHEN” never comes!
Reality is that the right time is always NOW.
The problem for waiting for “WHEN” is that “WHEN” never comes.
There’ll always be another milestone you can wait for. Yes, the baby will one day sleep through the night, but then your pre-schooler could start wetting the bed!
You might finally get ontop of that credit card debt only to find out your kid needs braces, or your hot water tank is rusty and needs replacing!
There’ll always be something. Another reaosn to procrastinate, another excuse. And any goal post set by someone procratinating can be moved at any given time.
Don’t allow the goal post to move!
So, I’m up, dressed, and I’m blogging again – back on the horse and riding – red nose, discusting cough and all!
Ok the Zumba classes will have to wait until next week (because I’ll likely choke and die if I attempt one right now), but I am off to grab an apple!
Ciao, au revoir, adios, afscheid & zàijiàn from me!
