My MLM Experience & Why I Choose Empower Network
In the mid 1980’s a friend of mine, actually it was someone I was dating, took me to a “meeting.” I know what you’re thinking…who would take a date to a network marketing meeting? Well, he did and I sat and listened to the presentation. I was pretty excited about what I heard and I really felt like I could make this opportunity work. I thought about it for a few days and decided to sign up and start my new career pushing term life insurance. He asked me to make a list of family or friends that we could visit, so, I came up with a friend of my parents. I thought they would be a good candidate.
So, we showed up at her house unannounced and she politely listened to the presentation. For me, and I could tell for her too, it was pure torture. She didn’t want us there. We had interrupted her day and she had no intention of buying. After we left I decided that this type of business just wasn’t for me. I hated it that much.
About a year later, another guy I was dating wanted to take me to…you guessed it…a “meeting.” This time it was an Amway presentation. I’ve never had anything against Amway, but I knew that I had no interest in network marketing having learned from my first experience so it was easy to turn this one down.
Fast forward about 10 years. Another person I was dating…I know, I really needed to take a close look at who I chose to date. Anyhow, I was taken to a meeting for a new network marketing opportunity offering long distance phone service. Thinking I was more mature and able to handle the sales aspect of the business, I signed up. Once again it seemed impossible to find anyone interested in even listening to what I had to say, and once again I quit knowing that this type of business just simply was not my thing. A funny side note to this experience: about 6 months after I had quit, I received a phone bill in the mail from the company. I knew that I did not have their phone service so I wondered how on earth I got this bill. I called the company and asked them to cancel the service and I asked who could have signed me up. When I heard the name of the person who signed me up for the service without my permission I was shocked. It was my grandfather. I was spammed by my own grandfather. It was at that point that I vowed never, ever to be involved in a network marketing business again.
Enter Empower Network
So, why then, after swearing off this type of marketing format would I be interested in an opportunity like Empower Network. The main reason is because it fits my personality and I truly like the products. I’m learning from them and I know other people out there can benefit from the products.
I have been interested in internet marketing for a couple of years and I have always enjoyed writing and blogging, designing websites and creating graphics. When I discovered that one could actually make money with websites I was thrilled. That is when I began my journey with internet marketing. In the past couple of years I’ve learned SEO, online advertising and link building. I’ve purchased training material to teach me how to rank in the search engines, understand social media and build affiliate sites. I’ve spent hours trying new things all while earning a few dollars here and there. Even though I haven’t made much online, I enjoyed what I was doing. But I was still looking for that one thing that I could really focus on and stick to. That’s when I heard about Empower Network.
But, before I joined I spent about a month doing research on the company. I listened to reviews and read hundreds of forum posts both for and against the system and listened to everyone’s opinions. I was an absolute skeptic. I in no way wanted to get involved in a business like the other network marketing businesses I experienced in the past.
But, since joining Empower Network I have been more than satisfied with everything I’ve learned and discovered. The products, the training material, is unlike anything available on the internet today. On top of that, I’ve learned a huge amount of marketing skills from my team members in the Prosperity Team.
The journey has been great and each day I’m closer to my goals and I’m having fun doing it. And I know that I can use this information and knowledge in everything I do in my life. I also like the open policy the company has. They don’t hid anything. Their company details are easy to find, they make NO guarantees that YOU will make money, and that’s actually a good thing. This company and it’s founding members know that making money with any system is not a guarantee and it take work and determination to be successful in anything. I found this more attractive than one of those easy money making systems that use unethical methods go make it work.
