Room with a view

I’m bunking with Chase while I’m in Denver. It’s a great room with a view of the pond across the road and the mountains. This morning I woke up to snow on the farther mountains. Simply beautiful.
It’s going to be a quiet day of rest today. Favors surgery was yesterday, she came through just fine. Her surgeon said she had been in real trouble. There was good news though. The liver and the gallbladder tend to be effected by Crohn’s. Hers are both in great shape. Other then the section of intestine they removed, the rest of her looks good. A normal small intestine is the size of a quarter. The section they removed that contained the stricture was the size of a softball. And it was in the same location as the last time so they just removed the entire section. The surgeon is confident that they can keep her from having to go through this again.
We have been studying folks who have cured themselves of Crohn’s via diet. There are lot’s of them. Human health is something I study a lot. So we have an edge already. Favor has studied it in terms of Crohn’s as well. If one person can beat something, anyone can. She will beat this, she’s a fighter.
It got cold at home last night. My Tom sent me a message that it was in the 20′s. It’s the first frost we’ve had. Came late this year. By the time I get home it will be cold all the time at night. Fire weather. I love having a fire. There’s something the sound and the dancing flames that soothes me. When I build my ranch house it’s going to have a huge open fire along the wall between the great room and the kitchen. It’s going to be open to both rooms. Because I like the nostalgia and would actually use it, I’m going to make it a cooking hearth. I love the house I’ve designed. I’m looking forward to building it.
I’m hoping to take Favor and do some driving in the mountains. There are a good number of towns with a population less then 1,000 an hour outside the city. Plus there are some nice towns we’ve seen on previous trips I’d like to see again. No time like the present to get a feel for the area. That way, I’ll know where to take Tom next time we’re both here. It’s going to be an exciting adventure.
I think I’ll know the place when we find it. I’ve seen it in my heart for so long now. There is lots of open land with pine. There will be water, several good sized ponds and streams. There will be a spring by the home site with enough water to feed the needs of the house. Spring water is the best. Spring water that comes up through rock is the only water that does not have calcium in it. Mineral calcium is one of the most damaging things to the health of all living things. It’s natures great recycler.
Most people don’t know that calcium in any form is not what the body uses to create bone. It uses silica, magnesium and a small amount of something else I never can remember. It is able to convert plant based calcium into the form it uses but mineral calcium in any form is toxic to the body. In a effort to rid itself of mineral calcium, the body will leach calcium from the bones. That’s why in spite of the fact that they put calcium in everything these days and more people are taking calcium supplements then ever, osteoporosis is on the rise. Mineral calcium is cheap. Just one area where what you don’t know is killing you.
