Life is a Remarkable Thing

Life is a remarkable thing. The farther into it I get, the more enamored with the process I become. In fact, I have decided to take the steps necessary to live as long as possible. Not because I am afraid to die. Because I am in love with life.
I was afraid to die most of my adult life. Entrenched in a religious system that was fear based and painted a very polar picture of God. On the one hand you learned that God was love, that Jesus died for you and that salvation was free. Then you spent the rest of your life in fear that in the end, you wouldn’t measure up and hell was waiting with baited breath for you to draw the last of yours.
God was actually a task master who had all these hidden rules and expectations that you had to figure out while you were above ground in order to live right enough to have an address in heaven when you died. Pretty sick actually.
When I let go of all the Christian religious nonsense and just began to be a spiritual human who loved Jesus and to whom the Fatherhood of God and Motherhood of Earth mattered; life began to be fun for me. I gained an understanding of what love is and is not and put my stake in the love camp.
Life has gotten fun for me in many ways. It’s amazing how changing one area of your life effects them all. What you believe has more to do with how life manifests for you then anything else. And I’m not talking about religion here. I’m talking about what you believe about yourself and for yourself.
When I believed I was really an icky person with no value who did not deserve to be loved life was a grind. I could take no real joy in the things I had that I loved because I was always expecting them to be taken from me at any moment. They often were. Life was a sea saw. My life would start to look like it was headed in a good direction and them out would come the rug.
When I began to let go of that, when I began to BELIEVE that I was valuable, that I was worthy of love and that I had a right to bliss in my life; that the purpose of dreams was to make them come true and I could do that, bliss became part of my life.
We found a home business that makes money. Lots of money. And it’s easy and it’s stuff I like to do. In fact, I’m doing it now.
The business has allowed us to quit our jobs, buy an RV and head out west to be with our kids and grand kids. We’ll be able to spend as much time as we like with them, we’ll be able to go camping and see all the places in North America we want to see with our home on wheels.
We’ll be able to hop over the pond and see our family in Ireland whenever we want. And we’ll be able to visit any place on earth we decide we want to visit. Fun stuff. Bliss.
We can go off on adventures and visit all the communities in the foothills of the mountains around Denver and find one we’d like to call home. Then we can have more adventures while we find our land and build our ranch.
And then we can have more adventures while we create the things we have in our hearts to create. When those have been accomplished, there will be dreams and visions to take their place because that is the nature of the human. To dream a dream and then create it.
That is why I am captivated by life these days. I figured out that life is about the journey. Life is about bliss. Life is about dreaming a dream and creating it. And it is bliss because now I believe that I can. I believe in my goodness. I believe that whatever the mind can conceive the human can achieve.
I believe in the integrity and love of Father God. That my heart would not desire a thing I could not acquire. That I would not hold a dream in my heart that I did not have the power to bring to life.
I believe in the Motherhood of Earth. That if we watch our Great Earth Mother and follow her ways; we can live long lives of bliss upon the earth. That if we honor her, she will honor us.
And because I believe these things, that is how life is showing up for me these days. I look at the words humans use to describe the emotions that rise up in response to the extravagance of God towards us and they fall short. Grateful, thankful; yes I am both of those things. But I also feel powerful and magnificent and am full of wonder at what I have done.
There aught to be a word that expresses the wonder of the power of God and the power of man combined. I am certain that God is as thankful that I have come to believe in my own power to create and am now doing my part as I am that He has done His part.
I am certain that our Great Earth Mother is as thankful that I care for her as I am that she provides for me.
It is the understanding that it takes both the human and the Devine that changed my perception of my value. One is not more important then the other at least in this realm. I honor the Divine by being an expression of that love and power to create good things and to care deeply about the earth and everything that calls her home.
Day by day, I go about doing so. And I experience joy along the way. Challenges come. But how I look at them has changed. There are no stoppers in my life. Life has become the best thing ever.
