What Will You Do When Opportunity Knocks?

Will you be ready when opportunity knocks?

Will you even recognize it?

Believe it or not, if you aren’t fully open to receiving them, you may not even recognize an opportunity when it smacks you in the face.

Just this week alone, I have had a couple of new opportunities show up in my life and I’m excited about them as I see them as an opportunity for growth, for adventure, a more direct path getting me closer to my goals.

In the video I talk about being excited about opportunity but I also feel I must mention the following. It seems to me that an opportunity does not come without cost. It will require:

1. Action of some kind – Recognizing an opportunity was the first thing but I had to take action and I had to do it fast. Why? Because successful people make decisions quickly and act on that decision. They don’t hem and haw and analyze the heck out of things. In my specific situation, there were some fast action bonuses that helped offset the cost – the faster one acted, the less the cost.

2. Faith – When deciding to take action on the opportunity I was presented with, I learned I had to exercise faith that all the details would work themselves out. I am the type of person that prefers to have all the details worked out in advance and know exactly how everything is going to come together, but that isn’t always possible.

But in this case, taking advantage of the opportunities presented meant I had to have faith that everything (details) would work themselves out. I decided not to over analyze the situation which could ultimately paralyze me and keep me from going after what I want.

3. Getting Outside my Comfort Zone – It seems to me that when an opportunity presents itself it usually means I am going to have to get out of my comfort zone – Big Time! It is very easy to say “I want more in life,” and to tell God, the universe and everyone you know you want more, but when something comes up for you, you can’t be afraid to take action on it and suddenly pull all the excuses out as to why you can’t do it.

Here’s what I know: it is highly likely that you will have to get uncomfortable, you are going to be hesitant, second guess your decision, and feel scared because you are outside of your comfort zone, but if you want to be the BEST person you can be, you are going to have to get out of your comfort zone.

Here is a personal example: I recently had the opportunity to jump out on a webinar and get some clearing work done. This was a very public, online thing where everyone and their brother and dog can watching was going to see and hear me. I planned on attending the call, but had not planned to be in the spotlight because up until now, I wasn’t that person willing to step out. My hair and makeup weren’t done, I was wearing casual lounge clothes as I hung out at home on a hot summer afternoon, but you know what….I did it anyways!

I simply made a decision then and there, I was READY to make a shift in my life and my business and I just didn’t care what others thought so I raised my hand and …..>GASP, I got picked!

This call and clearing was so powerful and raw that I cried….on a recorded live webinar for all the world to see……but that my friend, was an opportunity to grow and I took it. Felt like I was on cloud 9 after that and don’t care how I looked, how I sounded, etc. (also didn’t watch the replay lol)

4. There is a cost/price – No matter what you may have been told or what you might want to believe, there is going to be some kind of Price when an opportunity presents itself. It could be time, it could be money, or it could be both. The question is: Are you willing to pay the price to get what you WANT in your life? Or will you just settle for what ever shows up?

Here is the truth……you will have to give up something in some capacity to be the person you are meant to be, have the things you want to have, and live the life you deserve to live.
