I wanted to take a moment to wish everyone a Happy New Year and a prosperous 2013!
In past years, Happy New Year for me meant going to work early (often on a day off) getting dressed out in uniform and having to be staged on the Las Vegas Strip by 6:oo pm. It meant being on my feet for 10-12 hours and it meant freezing my buns off in the cold weather. I never could get the hang of what to wear to stay completely warm. Several layers just never cut it.
Happy New Year meant watching millions of people in the crowd in Las Vegas watching the clock for midnight, hoping everyone went home quickly when the New Year hit. Law Enforcement is required to be posted up on the strip each and every year and can’t leave until the street sweepers clean the street. Obviously, people need to be gone for that to happen.
Not very good customer service to respond to “Happy New Year” with “thanks, you can go home now” and it’s only 12:02 am. lol

Happy New Year From Las Vegas
My New Years Eve celebration ever since has involved me planting myself on my couch in my Jammie’s and watching everything on TV.
I guess after having to work it in some capacity for about 20 years, I still can’t bring myself to go out – especially to the Las Vegas Strip.
Here is a picture from my very last New Years Eve in 2007. This was taken before we actually staged ON the Las Vegas Strip.
I retired March 26th after reaching my 20 year anniversary. I can’t (or won’t) show you a picture of the following years because honestly, I’m in my Jammie’s, no makeup and looking like death warmed over. These days, once midnight hits, I hop into bed right away.
That’s not a bad thing for me! I am forever grateful that I actually get to choose how I spend my New Years Eve. I could go out and do what ever my heart desires, I just choose not to.
How ever you choose to spend the evening, I wish you a very Happy New Year filled with all the Love, Joy, Peace and Abundance you can handle.
