Well, if not, let’s discuss how you can be in this day in age. The old marketing tools and strategies are soon to be outweighed by “Internet Marketing”; however, don’t put those old strategies to rest just yet.

Offline Marketing Rockstar

I will list all the strategies that will help you become an ”offline” Marketing Rockstar. From Direct Response (Flyers or Mailers), Business Cards, Signs, Magazine Ads, Word of Mouth, Newspaper Ads, Radio, and T.V. Commercials you can see that Marketing has been around since the beginning of time. If you are not using any of these strategies you should, but first you have to have some capital in order to start Marketing like this. So how can you or where do you start with offline strategies?

The first step is to test one strategy and and scale to another one. If you have no capital to begin with, using word of mouth, flyers, and signs will be your low cost start. I have used the door to door strategy; which is more or less word of mouth. No one said that it was easy. What is funny is that Entrepreneurs and Business People alike don’t realize that it is all about Marketing. There are many products and services on the market that should not be; however, customers still buy those products and services.

Online Marketing Rockstar

You know I was working my way up to this. The mystical, multi-dimensional world of the internet is a force to be wreckoned with. Let’s dig in because frankly you will have to market online more than ever in the near future to be sustainable in the marketplace. Whether you have a blog or traditional website, you have to know how to generate traffic to it and of course convert to customers right?

I will explain the difference. A blog contains interactive content that can be updated, shared, commented on and be used for informational, entertainment, and monetary reasons. A traditional website serves to present high demand products and services directly to consumers and more or less acts as an online storefront.

Online Marketing Fundamentals

I will lay out the scale of online business and the direction you may want to take. If you have a large business presence online or offline with high demand for products and services, you may want to create a traditional website. However, if you are just starting out and want to be more interactive on the internet, a blog will help to provide not just content value, but also monetary benefits. I would highly recommend this outlet for a beginner.

A very important factor to understand is that when you create a website or blog, in order to drive traffic, you need to rank in the search engines. Many website owners hire people to manage this task because it can be tedious. If you don’t drive traffic, you will have to viewers, thus no sales. It could take anywhere from 6 to 12 months to rank online naturally in the search engines. There are ways to bypass this with offline marketing  or online marketing to put your site on the forefront. However, most people don’t have the resources for this.

My blog contains the in and outs of generating free traffic until you can pay someone to do it.  When you can pay someone to manage your website, I recommend that you do so immediately, so you can focus on the finer things like your life. However, until then, the free strategies do work .
