In this post you will discover how to increase your blog traffic without relying on ranking in the google search engines.

Today I am going to talk about different ways to get that all important blog traffic to your site. All these strategies are free strategies so will be very helpful to all the cash strapped bloggers out there.

First off all you need to write your blog post of course. Now before you do this think about what you want your post to achieve. Is it to get people to join your list? It may be to get people to actually join you in your business. Whatever the reason you need to have this in mind when you write the post.

What you need to do is target people who you think would be interested in what you are wanting them to join. Take this post for example I would be targeting bloggers who are looking for ideas how to get more traffic.

Next you would search the google keywords tool for keywords to target. You are doing this not to rank in google but to see how many people are searching for the keyword. Obviously you want at least a thousand people a month searching for the keyword to make it worth your while.

So you have written your blog post and it’s ready to go and get you traffic. The secret is to distribute your post by repurposing your content and spread it all over the net.

Blog Traffic Strategies

Post your article on various article directories like ezine articles, article base, buzzle, goarticles, articlesnatch etc…

Next repurpose your article into a video using microsoft power point or open office presentation. Make a few slides with the main points you want to make then make it into a video using something like jing if it’s less than 5 minutes long or camtasia if it’s a bit longer. Add a bit of audio of you speaking and you are ready to share your video. I always use the free jing tool and keep my videos short.

You then distribute your video to you tube, metacafe etc…

Now go to forums that would be interested in your subject matter and add your article there too. Not forgetting to make sure you have a link in your signature that sends people to your blog or a squeeze page so you can capture their details. Warrior forum and betternetwork.com are two of the forums that get a lot of traffic.

It is now time to turn your article into a pdf and distribute it to the document sharing sites such as docstoc.com, box.net and slideshare. To turn your article into a pdf go to zinepal.com and follow the instructions by clicking the how it works tab.

Another way to get blog traffic is to add your article to high traffic web 2.0 sites such as Squidoo or hub pages. These two sites get a lot of traffic so it is worth the time and effort to post your article there.

I know this will take you a bit of time at first but as you go on and do this on a regular basis you will see the increase in your blog traffic and you will become quicker at getting these tasks done.
