If anything I was most like a ‘rudderless’ ship, moving but not going in any one direction.
Just getting by but not getting anywhere in particular. I had settled for ‘safe’ and was paying the price in my happiness, my relationships and my Freedom.
I had moved back to the United States, from Canada, after a divorce and found that I was basically unemployable with my background and my age.
There was a long list of what I didn’t want to do, how I wanted to live, how I wanted to travel and see the world but no answer of how I could manage to do it.
I started working for/with a good friend and it paid the bills. Not too much more that that but I could be comfortable. Not get ahead but staying afloat at least.
The idea of working for myself in the home improvement industry held no interest for me and honestly at 61 I didn’t what to keep climbing ladders and moving heavy materials.
I started looking at home based businesses again, having been in a couple of MLMs years ago. I believe in the possibilities that working for one’s self has.
I also know that choosing the correct opportunity, with the right mentors and the right company would be key to any chance of my success.
Along with this knowledge, I was all too aware that the single biggest hurdle to my success, in any endeavor, would be me and my mind set.
I joined a MLM company that produces and markets toxin free products. I loved the products, still do, I liked some of the people and I thought that I would be something that I could do because ‘I’ liked and believed in the products.
But something was missing, BIG TIME! Training on marketing the system, training in personal growth and perhaps most importantly, the ability to utilize the internet for marketing, sales and recruiting.
At first, I decided that I needed help in marketing the company and products so I joined a marketing program for training and their internet products.
Good idea, wrong company for me. They are still doing well, they just didn’t fit with where I was in my knowledge and their constant selling of products to me became tiring.
I don’t know about you, but when I purchase any sort of training material I expect it to be complete, not the 1st half and that I’ll have to come back tomorrow and purchase the second half. Maddening!
About this time, a person in the MLM company and I had a discussion. She introduced me to another company that was much more forward thinking in their approach to training, products, commissions and their affiliates. Empower Network.
From the moment I became associated with Empower Network I saw the difference between Empower and ANY multi-level marketing company, any internet training company or any homebased opportunity that I had ever looked at or participated in.
I saw the potential in having Empower Network not only as the vehicle for my training and marketing but also a product and system that I wanted to build my business with.
I left the MLM company and use Empower Network for much of my training, for my marketing and personal growth and as the product/system that I market.
In a very short time with Empower Network, I learned to refresh my Dreams, that my FREEDOM is within my reach and that there is a system for me to do just that.
My life has a much better defined direction as a result of trainings and teachers within Empower.
I still am working hard on building my business but I am in total ‘belief mode’ and I am pursuing my Dream of FREEDOM and a positive and healthy lifestyle.
