Seattle Seahawks vs San Francisco 49ers Sunday night 5:20 pm PST

I am sorry all of you east coast fans for having to stay up late to see the game of the week which starts at 8:20 pm your time   This will be game of the week, not because they are power houses but because they are both coached be new age coaches, meaning they both coaches subscribe to having mobile quarterbacks, and are they great.

It’s certain that next year that more and more teams will jump on the bad wagon and find themselves looking for a quarterback with fresh legs.  Years ago we always counted the QB as an additional running back, but injuries caused them to “protect” the QB by keeping them in the pocket

Today the QB’s are coming out of college with far more maturity and it certainly seems to be working for those teams making the shift to motorized quarterbacks

In the past teams would draft a quarterback and and then spend 2 years teaching them to stay in the pocket before they would field them, not any more.  Look around the league and you will notice that most of them are looking for mobility at quarterback, Luck, Griffin, Newton, Wilson and let us not forget the the 49rs changed to Kaepernick in week 12 with a healthy winner, Alex Smith as the lead quarterback, when asked coach Harbaugh said “I like the mobility and of course the stronger arm of Kaepernick”.

This game has all the earmarks of a preview playoff game and the match up is phenominal, each with a balanced offense and excellent defense although 49rs get a slight edge in that department.  Seahawks of course have the 12th Man which causes fits for quarterbacks, especially young ones.

Seahawks coming off 2 games in a row with over 50 points, can they do it a 3rd time?  we’ll know soon enough as the kickoff is now 3 hours away.  ENJOY!
