Which of the Avengers would YOU be… and why?
We bought the DVD Avengers for our 2 boys (ages 6, 4) for Christmas.
We watched it the other day, complete with freshly popped popcorn (no microwave), mixed with M&M’s, and ice cold IBC Root Beer.
(We do it right for movie night at our home…the only thing missing is the dream home theater… coming soon 
)
As we watched the movie – great flick, by the way – it didn’t take long for our 2 boys to start calling ‘dibs’ on which Avenger they’d want to be. Our 11-year old daughter even got into the act.
And of course, my wife and I couldn’t resist either…
Before you knew it, our family room was full of smack talk going back and forth…
I get to be Iron Man, he has the best alter identity!
I’d be Hulk, he’d kick Iron Man’s butt!
Thor has the best weapon, and he can fly, too!
And on and on it went…
Which Avenger? Thor, Ironman, Hulk, Captain America, Hawkeye? Black Widow?
Iron Man does have a pretty cool life… and it’s hard to argue with logic like this:
If you could be any Super Hero for 1 day, who would it be?
For me, it would be Iron Man or Thor. Hulk’s too much of a drama queen. Captain America is pretty dang cool, but he loses a little too much without his shield.
Black Widow is ninja-hot, and Hawkeye has a wicked bow, but…
Iron Man has the all the gadgets, the kick-ass body suit and the bottom-less bank account he needs for a lifetime of upgrades.
Thor? Went 12 rounds with Hulk and didn’t go down. He can fly… and he gives new meaning to the word “Hammer Time”. Plus he’s basically immortal.
Tough choice…
My 4-year old wants to know if Super Heroes are real…
I love movies like this because, just for a moment, your thoughts get elevated to the point where you want to be like my 4 year-old who kept asking me,
Dad, is Avengers for real…?
And you know what? I wanted so badly to tell him that it IS real. That there ARE super-heroes like the Avengers that take on the bad guys and defeat them at the last possible moment…
It took me about 19 years to figure out that my dad was my real hero, so I’ll look forward to my reign when it comes
What if Super Heroes really DID exist today?
Everyone has a little bit of Super Hero inside them… they just don’t know it.
