Simple SEO for Beginners
Whether you have a blog or a website, one of the most frustrating aspects of running it is trying to get people to find your site. Driving traffic is the whole point of online marketing. Without it, you have no business. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is one of the simplest ways for beginners (and experts, too…) to get FREE traffic to a blog post or website. Most people don’t even try it because they think it’s too complicated (huge myth!) so let me show you some very simple SEO for beginners.
(If you’d rather watch than read, here you go!)
There are 2 huge advantages of SEO over paid advertising which makes SEO for beginners a great way to get started, especially if you’re on a budget:
1) It’s basically free. Yes, there are some optional blog plug-ins or tools that might cost a couple of nickels that will speed up your results. But what I’m going to show you in this post won’t cost you a dime… and it works.
2) You do it once and it keeps on driving traffic for weeks/months/years. Truly ‘set-and-forget’. Unlike paid advertising that you have to do over and over again, once you’ve optimized your website or blog post with these simple tips for SEO for beginners, it’s basically like having a constant fishing line in the world wide ocean of prospects.
SEO for Beginners – Big Benefits
Before I give you these quick tips, it’s important to understand one thing: This takes time and consistency. If you think you’re going to get 1,000 leads the very next day , it’s not going to happen. It might take a few days, a few weeks, or even a couple of months of consistent work.
Who cares? Imagine 30-60 days from now, and your website or blog is getting 10, 20, 30+ free leads every day, from Google/Yahoo/Bing… will it be worth it?
ABSOLUTELY.
(And with what you’re going to learn in Empower Network, you’re going to be able to speed up that process BIG TIME…)
With that in mind, here’s the basics of SEO for Beginners…
6 Step SEO for beginners (super easy!)
Once you’ve selected your keyword, you need to focus on it by following these 6 simple steps.
NOTE: Leaving out one of these steps doesn’t mean your blog will never be found. But the more of these steps you include, the more likely and the quicker it will be to rank for your keywords, generating you more traffic and more commissions.
(As you go through these steps, see if you can figure out what the keyword I selected for this post is…)
(Ok, here’s a hint: It’s “SEO for Beginners”)
1) Your keyword should be part of the URL or website/blog address.
2) You should have a Headline (H1 size) with your keyword in it at the top of your post/article. (Look at the top headline in this post). Then you should have about 2-3 sub-headlines (H2 size) with your keyword in it to break up your post/article. (Again, look at this post for an example)
3) Your keyword should appear at least 1x (but not more than 3x) for every 100 words of your article/post. This is “keyword density”. 1-3% is good. More than that and Google thinks you’re a spammer. Not good. So in a post with 600 words, you’ll want your keyword phrase to appear at least 6 times, but not more than 12-18 times.
4) One of your keyword phrases should be bolded. One more should be in italics. One more keyword phrase needs to be underlined.
5) Put 2-3 images in your post/article. Not only does that make it more fun to read (and look at), but Google loves graphics/images. When you add it to your post, use your keyword phrase for your “alt tag” and “description” of your image.
6) Make sure your keyword phrase appears in the first and last paragraph of your article/post.
SEO for Beginners is actually pretty simple…
There you go. Very simple SEO for beginners in marketing…
It may seem tedious at first, but once you’ve done it a few times, you’ll be able to crank out posts and articles that are “SEO friendly” in just minutes.
Now here’s the key that separates the wimps from the winners:
Most people will try this SEO for beginners stuff for a couple of days, and then they’ll quit. They’ll get distracted and say it doesn’t work and then they’ll jump to the next latest-and-greatest “system” and wonder why they’re always broke.
But if you’ll stay consistent with this process, and keep going while 98% of everyone else quits, you’re going to be successful. It’s a mathematical certainty. Especially when you have an “authority” blogging platform like this one with Empower Network.
These 6 steps of SEO for beginners are the foundation for your blogging empire. It’s like learning how to add 4+4 to get 8. Once you’ve learned these basic steps, Empower Network will show you how to multiply 4 x 4 to get even bigger, better and faster results.
It’s your business.
Make it count.
