Doing Batched Work, is Good Time Management
Doing Batched work in Planning, Baking, Cooking, and Business tasks are all good when it comes to time management.
In this Zucchini Bread recipe, I do a triple batch instead of a single batch that makes only 2 loaves, to save time in the kitchen.
For those of you that like recipes that are good for you as well as yummy, here is my recipe.
3 c. Shredded Zucchini (about 3 medium)
1 ⅔ c. Sugar
⅔ c. Apple Sauce
2 t. Vanilla
4 Egg Whites
3 c. All-Purpose or Whole Wheat flour
2 t. Baking Soda
1 t. Ground Cinnamon
½ t. Ground Allspice
½ t. Baking Powder
½ c. Coarsely Chopped Nuts, if desired
½ c. Raisins, if desired
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease bottoms only of 2 loaf pans, 8 ½ x 4 ½ x 2 ½ or 9 x 5 x 3 inches.
Mix Zucchini, Sugar, Applesauce, Vanilla and Egg Whites in large bowl.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Pour into pans.
Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool 10 minutes.
Loosen sides of loaves; remove from pans.
Cool completely before slicing.
Wrap tightly and store at room temperature up to 4 days, or refrigerate up to 10 days, freezes well.
With doing a triple batch of the Zucchini Bread it saves me all the extra time that it would take to make it three times.
In planning out a weeks worth of meals and doing the grocery shopping only once a week it saves both time and money.
Doing batch work in your baking and meal planning will save time in thinking of what to make for dinner each and every night, and the baking can be used for gifts as well!
