There is a post here about astronauts looking back at the Earth and what that does to a person's sense of proportion, and another that hands over a recipe for turkey brine. Dan Walsh let both stand next to his marketing writing, and the mixture tells you something about how he approaches the work.
The marketing itself gets specific. He argues that all traffic is social in the end, so a link is only worth having if there is a person on the other side of it. He grades backlinks by quality instead of counting them. He handles a phone call by asking better questions rather than by delivering a stronger close.
The most useful piece may be the one about quitting, which retells the old story of a prospector who stopped drilling just short of the seam and aims it squarely at people who promised themselves thirty days and a look at what happens.
Read the traffic and link posts if you want method. Read the one on quitting first if you are anywhere near it.
