I get it, self development isn’t always the glamor topic. That’s normally reserved for finding some way to help your business succeed (leads, traffic, prospecting, etc.). PAY ATTENTION, you need this, we all do. The funny thing is that self development will become outrageously addicting once you realize it’s power. In the past 6 months alone, I have dropped over 2 grand on self development courses and seminars that are not aimed at home business or online marketing.

Did it affect those? You better believe it.

Self Development Has Taught Me How To Fail In Life

Sound odd? Why would a person pay for to be taught how to fail? Well they didn’t, I’ve been failing long before I met them. Let’s be honest, if you haven’t failed repeatedly throughout your life then you are living it SCARED. You are playing it safe. Is there anything wrong with that?

No. Not at all.

Live your life scared. Play it safe. It doesn’t bother me, but know this… you will always be a FOLLOWER. You will never break the mold that society has constructed for you. You will also NEVER lead, you will NEVER be the one that changed hundreds of lives, you will NEVER be the one that left a footprint that could be seen from the moon, and you will ALWAYS be working for OTHER people. Why? Because you have become a follower.

Self development has taught me how to fail in life. Fail powerfully. When I do fail, I almost relish it. I know that I won’t stay down for long, and when I start ascending to the top that failure will become my most powerful ally. It will become my success story.

Go ahead, pick a leader, any leader. Everyone of them has failed. Steve Jobs? Failed. Bill Gates? Failed. Oprah Winfrey? Failed. They have all failed, repeated. Time after time.

It’s natures way of sorting out the strong from the weak. The strong will get rewarded with the life of their dreams (you know the one that you envision in your head), and the weak will eventually become the employee’s of the strong.

If you want to become one of the “Strong” then you need to fail repeated, face adversity, and stay the course. Follow your path, then you will be rewarded. Then you will have become worthy of the life you desire. Could the world be run by pip squeaks? No.

In Malcolm Gladwell’s book, Outliers, their research showed that it takes 10,000 hours to master something. 10,000 hours! Just let that sink in. If that person failed 5 times and quit, do you think they would reach 10,000 hours? No chance. You have to persevere through a WHOLE LOT of failure before you reach 10,000 hours.

Are you even willing to endure 5,000 hours? Are you? Be honest with yourself.

If you aren’t, then you better start to get nice and cozy with your current situation, because that sure as heck isn’t going to change.

Self Development Has Taught Me That You Have A Choice

We were all born as equals. There was no difference between you or I initially. Just as there was no difference between Bill Gates, Oprah, or Steve Jobs and the guy sleeping on the sidewalk. Then at some point in your life you face a choice, do I walk away so my family and friends don’t see me fall on my face again or do I stick with it.

Nature is going to constantly test you, it will throw everything it has at you to find out if you are one of the strong or one of the weak. It will pull you under, swallow you whole, and then spit you back out just so it can do it all over again. Self development is your defense. If you endure, then nature will reward you. So are you going to be one of the strong or the weak? Make up your mind and then DO SOMETHING about it.
