This is a method I use every time I write something, whether it’s a blog post, an article, a Free Press Release or even the description part for my Youtube videos.
It’s easy to remember and also helps make reading easier for all readers, including the skim readers out there, to find the bit they are really interested in.
Plan What To Write
Start by writing about 3 to 5 sub headings. These will give you a nice plan to work to as well as providing handy prompts to guide you in what content to write under each sub heading. You can always shuffle the sub headings and accompanying paragraphs later to give you a better flow if you need to.
At the bottom of any Google page are a handful of related search terms, so it can be useful to adapt them into subtitles you can use for your post.

3. Add Relevant Content
Now you have your headings go back and add some relevant content under each sub heading like this for the H3.
Optimizing a blog for SEO comes down to one simple rule. “Write for people, optimize for spider bots”. In short this means your piece must be readable and not just written to get ranked in the search engines.
Under each heading write some brief but informative content for your readers but include your sub title phrase once or twice. This will ensure you are optimizing each part of your blog post for SEO spiders while delivering the information you want to your readers, just like this paragraph has done.
All these sub headings or phrases should be variations on a theme so the Google spider bots reading them can see they are all related, in this case to the art of Blogging and Optimization.
This makes the little Google bots report back that you have covered lots of search terms and delivered more juice than the guy who put a main title How To Use SEO and then wrote a ton about one aspect of the same subject. Whereas, you wrote about several aspects on the topic giving their readers a more rounded view of the subject and therefore your content has more value and should be seen first in their search engine.

If you look at my other posts you will see I always write a footer at the bottom of my posts, these I always make a H5 or a H6 heading. I have even been known to hyper link them to another website on the same subject matter, so that the Google bots include the other website in my chain of content.
This secret link could go to another of my similar blog posts, an article somewhere or even be to a video with a relevant content rich title and description. As long as its not an obvious link, you don’t want to lose readers who go clicking it.
