Happy “Website traffic” Thursday

Well happy Dan’s first day back at work!!! Good Lord was it a busy day I was actually thankful for a shipment that got forgotten today, regardless of how bad we may or may not need it… It was just another half an hour of time I didn’t have to spare. The good news? Even with the days off, I was completely caught up by 3pm. I know, pretty incredible right? Just nod along and placate the crazy guy okay… It was a good day back, and I attacked it with some serious determined effort. Very much the same as I put in here. I do my best to insure there is new input here on a day to day basis, and I am pretty sure we haven’t missed a day in about 60 days? Seems right… But I think even one or so of those was a post after midnight that showed the next day, and a internet down day (yes, if I was really dedicated I would have packed my laptop into the car, driven to the nearest McDonald’s and used their free WiFi, I will remember that if it happens again ) Tonight I am listening to David Sharpe training on the Costa Rica intensive video series you can watch here at the Empower Network (it’s one of the awesome products they have) This guy is a guru’s guru… I have been thoroughly impressed with everything he and David Wood have had to say, and if you haven’t had a chance to listen to them, Here’s a link to some of the training (just the free stuff, but damn good regardless). 193. Do something controversial to attract website traffic.

Now I know this is really close to step 107, check the full post here, but it’s not quite the same. This is the sort of thing that Howard Stern used to do. Be controversial, be obnoxious, be mean and be rude. Of course you don’t have to do all of those, or any for that matter. But for some reason, these are the attributes that get people noticed. Maybe not permanently but it does get the flow started. Look at those guys at the Westborough church…. despite how you feel about them, and I would wager 99.9% of people feel the same, they have gotten worldwide attention. Ploy for attention? In my opinion, “You Betcha!” I actually find their stances so far from what I believe the church to be about I changed their signs to reflect that. What about doing something controversial, and then using the media around it to get worldwide attention? Westborough did this, but to a bigger degree so did “Anonymous”. If you don’t know who they are, “Knowledge is free. We are Anonymous. We are legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us.” A quote from one of the largest groups of hackers to ever exist. While a lot of people do not like what they have done, or condone the way they have done it. They have gotten plenty of attention directed to the things they wanted by being “hacktivists”. Now I am not saying go out and do something illegal, I am not saying to go out and do something immoral. I am saying that controversial does garner attention. So while you sit at home tonight, considering what would be a great controversial idea to start things off with, have fun with it. Controversy isn’t always about negativity.
