A Quick And Easy Guide To Mobile Marketing

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

When it comes to mobile marketing, one of the first and foremost things you need to consider is that your content needs to be both friendly, interesting, and familiar to your prospective customers. If this tip hits home with you, keep reading this article and you will be pleased you took the time.

Do not send any message that does not clearly state who you are and what kind of business you have. Make sure your mobile campaign contains your name or the name of your brand. If you are just starting a new brand, you should quickly and simply explain what kind of products or services you sell.

Try not to add files to your message. If possible, you should only include a link. Adding large files, like pictures, to a message will only frustrate the customer, because you are adding to the download time. Also, you may be costing them extra money just to be able to view what you have sent.

Don’t concentrate on mobile marketing as your only means of marketing. It can be tempting to focus on mobile marketing, but remember that it is only one branch of your marketing efforts. Remember to use all avenues of marketing open to you to build the strongest business that you can.

If you plan to introduce a coupon or promotional code into your mobile marketing campaign, spare your customers the embarrassment and confusion of the requirement that all offers must be printed out and presented at the time of purchase. A large percentage of mobile users cannot print from their smartphones, yet in the last couple of years dozens of companies pushed forward with dud campaigns that alienated customers and damaged credibility.

Make sure to conduct a usability test before rolling out your mobile marketing campaign to your consumers. Ask friends, family, employees or all of the above to receive your messages, respond and ask for their honest opinion of the experience. This way you will make sure everything works to provide the best experience for your customers.

On your website and your mobile site, have links to your social networking and other affiliated sites. Company videos on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Google+, or Foursquare any resources that you can provide to your customers to give them more information about your business and who you are.

Timing of the messages is also important. Do not send text messages to your customers too early in the morning or late at night. As much as customers like your product or service, and no matter how exciting the promotion is, they are not likely to be pleased by a late night or early morning communication.

Remember to give value. You have to give a little in order to receive a lot. You need to offer incentives in your mobile marketing campaign. These incentives could be anything from weather alerts to local event information. You could offer a coupon to increase your consumer participation and increase take rates to your campaign.

Make unsubscribing to your mobile ad simple and easy to improve your image with the customer. As difficult as it may be to make unsubscribing easy, your recipients will view you as a reasonable and worthy merchant whom they can trust. Chances are very good that anyone who unsubscribes was never going to purchase anyway so you save yourself some pointless promotion too!

The number one rule in mobile marketing is to never spam. This is the quickest way to not only lose existing customers, but to ensure that your marketing campaigns fail to reach new ones. Spam is a major problem in marketing and people who are perceived to send it lose a lot of credibility.

Craft a mission statement more for your purpose than anything if you want to stay on track in social mobile marketing. Take stock of everything you’re about as a businessperson, write these principles down, and abide by them strictly. Adhering to your principles will help you to keep on the straight and narrow.

In conclusion, there are quite a few important tips to consider when it comes to mobile marketing and hopefully, this article is a good source of relevant information to get you going. Just remember what you learned here and your mobile marketing plan should prove to be a great success.
