Well you came to the right place IF you are NOT looking for SEO tips!  That’s because I am NOT an SEO expert.  However, as I continue to learn more about ‘search engine optimization’ there are many ranking tips and strategies that I know and will share with you in this post.

Decide What Your Blog Is About

I think one of the biggest mistakes new online marketers or folks wanting to start building their online business is not really dialing in on the message your blog will deliver to your audience. 

For instance, if you are an affiliate marketer and you want to sell weight loss products, dial that in even more by determining if your blog site will be for just women, men & women or just general information aimed at health and fitness.

Having full understanding what your blog is about will keep you focused when setting up your blog site with proper categories, tags and other information that will be congruent to your message and give you an ‘seo’ edge.

Blog Daily No Matter What

It’s been proven over and over again that blogging daily (or at least 5x week) will build incredible visibility and provide viral awareness to your audience and to the search engines. 

This means that your blog posts should provide tips, information, answer questions or entertain your blog visitors.  WHY?  Because you want them to remember your site and keep returning to build that rapport and soon a paying customer.

And when you blog daily, it’s like you are publishing mini-sites that stay on the internet 24/7 forever!  The more you post, the more ‘sites’ you have out there and a huge opportunity for people to see your link…along with those search engines!

Long Tail Keywords Is Key!

There are so many people now on the internet and leveraging it for their online business.  So how in the world do you stand out, above the crowd and be seen?

Guess what?  We are all on a level playing field.

That’s because if you have a blog and an internet connection, combine it with daily blogging and providing that interesting, valuable information the next thing you can do is focus your blog post on a ‘long tail keyword’.

A long tail keyword is at least 4 to 7 (maybe up to 9) words.  These words should be descriptive, actionable and specific to what your blog post will deliver.

The biggest mistake you can make is to use keywords to attract your audience but then do the ‘switch’ on them and make your blog post more about selling rather than delivering helpful information for your visitors. WHY?

Well if you haven’t noticed, the internet and the social interaction is changing how we do online business.  People want to meet and work with people.  They are tired of the ‘sales pitch’ …so I highly recommend you DITCH THE PITCH and get working on long tail keywords that will benefit both you and, most importantly, your audience and the search engines.

Use the Google Keyword Planner or just search the topic you want to write about in the search engines for getting ideas for your long tail keywords.  Get creative and have fun, be original and you will have people visiting your blog site all the time.  That will also help to get on the first page of the search engines blogging!

Let’s Get Sexy With Images!

Now don’t take that the wrong way…my husband might see this!  What I want to get across is how images will really spice things up for your blog posts.  To top it off, the search engines like them too.

Use images please!

You can use your imagination when it comes to the images to include in your blog posts.  Be sure that the images are high quality and high resolution as they typically will catch the eye of your audience.

When you add images, you will want to include tags that include your long tail keyword.  This is an SEO tip which will help your images to even get on the first page of the search engines!  Now that’s sexy, lol.

Here is an online image creator that is really easy to use…. Canva.com …. You can import your own images then add striking text, quotes or any other artistic design which will create more unique, images to catch their eye.

Videos Rule The Land

If you haven’t heard yet, videos are king.  And if you don’t believe it, then you are still living in the ‘old days’.  Video is and will continue to be a huge factor in any kind of marketing or communication for any audience.  Videos are what people want and with all the devices, like smart phones, tablets, pc’s and being able to access the internet from your TV, people are drawn to videos.

Add videos to your blog posts and you will have much more rapport with your visitors, as long as they relate to the message you are sharing in your blog post.  And the more videos that you can incorporate yourself, is going to become a huge benefit for you.  But think of it this way, when people see you, then they start feeling like they know you.  When they know you, they being to trust you and the rest is history…because they will follow you and hopefully become a loyal paying customer or team member!

Videos will in some cases get on the first page of the search engines before your blog post or just by themselves.  WHY?

Well that is because Google owns YoutTube.  So anyone searching on Google, will see the top ranking videos for that keyword.  The more you believe that videos WILL change the success of your online business the more I hope I have inspired you to get out there and make that first video right now!

Syndicate – Get Out There and Share!

Now it’s time to bring the value to your audience.  Which came first…. the visitor or the blog site?

Syndication is a huge and important part to being seen and heard on this very crowded online space.  But when you incorporate all the tips and strategies you have learned so far, by taking the time to SHARE YOUR STUFF is when the magic happens!  Well at least, it can.

There are of course the big social media players that every online business should have a profile.  Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Pinterest and now you should even consider Instagram!  It doesn’t take a long time to set up your social media profiles, especially since you can backlink from your social profiles to your blog site or to specific content that relates to your audience!  

Pretty cool, right?

To get on the first page blogging it takes effort.  Your published content just doesn’t magically ‘get picked up by the search engines’….like too many believe it does.  So take the time and syndicate to your social sites.  Be creative with this using catchy phrases with an eye catching image relating to your blog post along with the link for your follower to click and access.  Go ahead and share in groups and forums, just be sure you are not that ‘spammer’ person, keep it real ok?!

You also have available sites that ‘Ping’ your content, like Pingler.com (it’s the one I use) or there are many more tools like this, you can search on the web.  

Well that’s it.

These are some tips you can apply right now to start maximizing your potential to get on the first page blogging.  AND you don’t have to be that SEO expert, in fact, just be yourself.  That is key for today’s online business.  The more you can be YOU, that is when you will build greater success.
