How to solve problems starts by asking the right questions
All of the successful people you admire know how to ask a better set of questions when faced with problems.
They see problems as an opportunity to learn, grow, explore and become a better person.
If you can learn to be a great problem solver, you’ll win at everything in life.
How To Solve Problems With 5 Empowering Questions
1) What is great about this problem?
You’d be surprised to learn that every problem contains within it a massive opportunity for growth.
When we were struggling in our commission only jobs on cruise ships, earning pennies on the dollar, we realized that what was great about our problem was that now we would have an opportunity to live on the land and be like “normal” people.
We could have Sundays down by the river.
We could stay out all night after a long leisurely dinner.
We could go to movies in a real movie theater.
We could have puppies.
We could be “normal”
2) What is not perfect yet?
By phrasing this question with “yet” allows your unconscious mind to search for answers to fix the problem.
Well … we hadn’t found an alternative to what we were doing that would give us the potential to earn the same amount of money … yet.
So we kept searching.
3) What am I willing to do to make it the way I want?
Here’s where you get to decide if you’re prepared to take action.
In our situation, we’d spent three years searching for business opportunities. One happened to fall into our laps whilst we were still on ships.
We were willing at that point, after doing our due diligence, to quit ships, go home and build an MLM business.
4) What am I willing to no longer do in order to make it the way I want?
Meaning, what behaviors will you no longer accept that created the problem in the first place?
For us, we didn’t have any adverse behaviors. For us it was a matter of not having found the right opportunity yet that ticked all the boxes.
5) How can I enjoy the process while I do what is necessary to make it the way I want it?
This is probably the most important question of all. Because the process of getting from where you are, to where you want to be can be extremely uncomfortable.
Your dreams lie just outside of your comfort zone.
When we started building our online business, we were very uncomfortable. The only way we could ‘enjoy’ the process was to keep focused on our WHY. That’s what got us through.
YOU are So Much BIGGER than your problems.
When you TRULY GET THAT …
