You see that little annoying thing to the left?
Did you read what the caption said?
That’s right my friends….
…….it’s NO LONGER employed!
I’m excited too.
Hopefully you’ve read the first part of my story dealing with The Trap. If not read it here.
Aight let’s get back into it.
So why did I leave a job where I was earning double the average American family?
Why did I leave a job where I finally got approved to have 2 days off?
Why did I leave a job where my store was #1 and we were at the top of our game?
Why did I leave a job when the iPhone 5 was just about to come out?
Why did I leave a job when holiday season was JUST around the corner?
And holiday season means MORE Dinero $$$$!
It’s ALL A TRAP.
That’s one thing I had to realize.
It’s all a TRAP.
Here’s the reason why I did it.
It may be a long answer to a short question but hopefully you will get it.
In my profession, calling, or whatever you want to call it, I see too many pastors that pastor and still have a job.
They keep this up for a long time.
And although they have a desire to pastor full time, grow their church, be in the community….
…..time restricts them because they have to provide for their family which means they have to stay at their jobs.
Because they never get the opportunity to pastor full time, their ministry suffers, their community suffers, and their church suffers.
I’m not saying working a job is bad because it definitely has its place.
What I am saying is that sometimes we hold onto jobs longer than we need too.
Most don’t know that there are other opportunities or avenues out there that will allow them to earn a significant income and still pastor full time.
Let me share something with you that will not follow any chronological order whatsoever but it will provide clarity on why I decided to leave.
Stay with me though, I promise it will make sense later on…
….even if you don’t believe it just listen to the story and how the events unfold.
Back in March I went to a Pastor’s friend church for a service.
I met a Pastor there from Charlotte, NC.
He didn’t know me at all.
Afterwards we talked briefly and he shared something with me that I’ll never forget, “Adrian, God wants to accelerate you because He needs you for this season.”
Then last month I saw him again at the same church because he was preaching for the Word Network which has a viewer base of 91 million people.
I actually had the honor to have a 30 second spotlight on tv promoting my church, Kingdom Konnections Embassy. By the way like us on Facebook by clicking on the link .
Anyway when I was called on stage, the gentleman hosting the show called me apostle.
I didn’t catch it.
So my Pastor friend from Charlotte asked me afterwards if I heard what he said.
I said no.
Then he said, “You must be missing something. God has called you to be an Apostle to His people, the Body of Christ.”
I then made a funny face and told him I was just trying to figure out what an apostle is biblically and not based on a lot of this foolishness I see on tv.
He then went on to explain what an apostle is (which I will not go into detail here) and it made sense with the vision God had given me for Kingdom Konnections Embassy.
Still doesn’t make sense why I left my job huh?
LOL….keep reading. Again this will be in no particular order.
A guy at the mall that works there came up to me one day (we talked from time to time) saying your time here is coming to an end.
A minister at a church I preached at mentioned to me God said to tell me “promotion and elevation.”
A guy that was supposed to help me start my church back in March sent me a text out the blue speaking on (and I’m going off memory here) “There’s a decision that you have to make that may seem difficult. Yet you have this great sense of peace about it…..”
I forget everything verbatim that he said but the jist of it was me making a decision to leave my job.
Another time I went to this prophetic service and the Apostle that was preaching said to me that “God said I am a giant, spiritually. He has given me choice blessings. I am going to be a great counselor to men. I’m a business man and I have a millionaire’s anointing on me.”
He said some other things too however I wanted to highlight what’s relative to the topic at hand.
Then last Tuesday…a few days before my last day I ran into a lady that I know that used to work at the mall.
She told me how her business took off as a hairstylist from home.
She explained how things had just been coming together after she left a job and how peaceful, excited, happy, and grateful she is.
At this point in the day I deserved to hear what she was saying because I was dealing with a level of fear that was trying to cripple me and cause me not to move forward.
So what she was saying and the excitement level she had was right on time.
That took my belief and faith to another level.
All of these things, these prophetic words, these confirmations, these messages for ME HAD to mean something.
Now let me share with you a little background on myself.
I’m not one of those persons that A) goes looking for a prophetic word like some people in the body of Christ and B) will be so quick to take what somebody says “God told them to tell me.”
However during this year, during this season of my life, my ears were open, and I was making preparation to leave.
I was discerning what was being said to me.
My brother shared a book with me by Dr. Tony Evans, called “Kingdom Man”.
In this book there’s a statistic that says 71% of Black kids grow up without a dad in the house.
That disturbed me tremendously.
71%.
I and my brothers were one of those 71%.
My parents divorced when I was 5 I think.
Although during my high school years I had my grandfather in the house, it still wasn’t my biological father.
So that got me to thinking even more and fueled my decision even the further to leave.
My friend I’m gonna stop right here.
This is going way longer than I expected.
Tomorrow I’ll piece all this together and tie up any loose ends so that you can make sense of it all.
It’s very freeing me sharing a portion of my life with you.
I pray that you are able to take something away that will cause you to move to action.
Until tomorrow….
…..DEUCES!!!
