Not Juan Excuse

I met two new members during the Empower Network Saturday night party (on 1/25/2014) and we just had a very entertaining and funny conversation about the Event. (It was Juan’s first event).

And so we were all chatting about the event thus far, and then Sonia and I started talking about videos. And I shared with them that on my first event, some Empower Network leaders, it was Anna and Shaqir and Alex… they were just asking if I have done videos yet….

…. like it ISSSS expected if you are to be an Internet Marketer, eventually, you would have to show your face, you know just let your customers know and see who you are. Some people don’t like doing this…. but almost ALL, if not ALL of the Empower Network Leaders do videos as well….

On my second event in Chicago, it was Ed and Kevin who were encouraging me further to create videos (because I still was not creating videos with my face on it, I did several tutorial videos with just my voice… so that was just like an inch by inch thing, working through… I thought, maybe after doing that, I’d feel less self conscious….). Not.

It happened for me to just dive into it sometime in June 2013, I think, when I FORCED myself into my own personal 90 day video challenge! No personal accountability partner or anything, it’s ME and my intention to kick and kill that fear for good!

And I won. 🙂

… I guess my own “excuse” / “reasons” when I started…. on the first maybe two months of my business… I didn’t even have a picture of me on ANY of my blog posts… just my Logo….

… BUT, when I attended my first event in January 2013… I was about 2 months and half into the business, that was when I had a personal FB Account, and I just started adding friends on FB, mostly, EN Members whom I have met in the events. Well, most of them, Leaders. 🙂 So it’s still a very NICE group of quality FB friends…

… that when I read their Public Posts, it is only either inspirational OR funny – no dramas! Which I like!

So anyway, Sonia, Juan and I were talking about the videos too, and blogging too, and then I just asked “Have you done your first video yet? Like HERE at the Event?”

And he goes, “Nope, not yet, because this and that, I will do that when …. “

And I just looked at Sonia. And I just had to laugh….. (because I knew what he was talking about, I was there, too, last year when I attended my first event! LOL!)

And I just said, “I know you can, that’s not the question, though, the real question is will you?”

More laughter!!!! I shared with them my experience, I said, it was funny, I think I was able to kick out the fear of creating videos after I have done 30 days straight of creating videos, and one minute videos are fine!

And then chit chat, etc. etc… and then I took out my camera….

And this was that…

Not Juan Excuse … 🙂

And then … you know what? The next day? Juan created his OWN Video, WHILE at the Event! And posted it on his own blog!

Isn’t that magical? (because there’s actually a lot of people who can’t or won’t do that! :-), so Juan did as he committed to do!)

That inspired me more! 🙂

We all don’t know the specific reasons why someone might not want their photos or videos on their blogs…

… but we all have “reasons” or “excuses” .. (I did too when I started… :-)) ! But in Internet Marketing, as these leaders have taught, either you make money, or you make excuses!

I think it was Michael Angelo who said…. “if you are shy, and you want to become an internet marketer, then decide to become un-shy!”

I shared with them what I have realized … why even be scared of videos? Why, because we think a million people will watch it right away? I said, my videos? I started laughing at myself! Why was I so scared of it at first? There were “two plays” – both mine … one was when I uploaded it, and then the second one was when I checked if it was still there! LOL!

It is the “conquering of the fear” that is what makes it magical! And what Dave Wood taught is true… when you create videos, the first person you help is yourself.

… you might look funny at first…

… you might feel too self conscious at first ….

… you might THEN start thinking … “Who cares? It’s the message that counts.”

And when you have reached that point of “Who cares? It’s the message that counts.”

… that is when you KNOW you have conquered that useless fear of creating videos!

And so when you want to start a business… an online business… it’s good to know who you are aligning yourself with.

Some of the people I have met whom I thought would benefit from something like Empower Network have been either badly burnt by scams (like my real estate investors group), or are too busy with and in their careers in healthcare that they can not carve out 2 extra hours per night for a part time business like this.

A lot of the people whom have “scorned” or “mocked me” when I first joined Empower Network now reach back out to me, because they said that, I even SPEAK differently now. It’s like I am or sound like I am a happier person.

And so, all I can say to that is, I guess, I have just learned how to “get free and be free in my mind.”

It’s all a mix, my Faith in God and Jesus is strong, and to have come across a business, an online business, a part time, online business like this? A super powerful, great, motivational, positive community like this? It will be stupid of me not to take a chance at it.

I most definitely have gained more than what I paid for.

I have learned about online marketing, I have learned more about people and experiences, and learned from these leaders own experiences, shared on these transformative digital educational products?

I know that what we sell are VALUABLE training products that anyone can use in both their personal and professional life.

Us growing this much, this big and this quick… yes, we know we provide value to the marketplace. But, no one would know “just by being on the fence.”
