Your online home based business requires effective communication styles
So continuing on the theme of sponsoring and recruiting in your online home based business. We’ve been looking at some of the things I took away from the webinar in MLSP by Ray Higdon, and how they can help you achieve sponsoring success in your network marketing and online home based business. We have talked about posturing, or how so appear to your prospects, and have discussed the need to let go of some prospects that aren’t good for your team or online home based business.
Another point Ray Higdon makes in understanding the communication styles of the people you interact with. We are talking about communication styles not personality type. Every person prefers to communicate in a certain style. Some communicate visually, some through audio and some through touch. If you listen to how a person talks or writes you can pick up cues to their communication style.
Understanding communication styles in your online home based business
For example if a person says, “it looks to me that”, or “the way I see it”, those are cues that the person communicates best visually. If a person says, “it sounds to me like”, or “what I am hearing is”, those are cues that the person communication style is audio. So if someone writes or says, “I feel like this is”, or “I’m feeling or my feeling about that is”, that person communication style is touch.
The point is that you need to understand that the style in which a person primarily communicates is the style in which you want to tailor you communications with that person. So if someone has a visual communication style, you want to address them in that same style, because they will respond best to it. So you might say something like, “I want to show you”, or “it may appear like”. For an audio communicator you might say, “Listen to this”, or “do you hear my point”. A touch communicator would be best addressed with something like, “if you feel like”, or “so your feeling is”.
Tailor your communication styles in your online home based business
When you are able to pick up these cues to a person’s communication style, it will help you in your online home based business because you can respond in a more effective way to that person. So try to pick up the style a person is using in their conversations or their writing. Then respond to that person in the same style.
If you are communicating with a group of people, like giving a group talk, or a conference call, or sending out an email message to a group of people, you may not know the communication style. In fact there is probably a mix of communication styles. So make sure you include all of the different communication styles in your presentation so you can connect with the entire group. This will have a positive effect on your sponsoring in your online home based business.
Again, there is a lot more information on successful sponsoring in the webinar by Ray Higdon and MyLeadSystemPro. He goes over how to respond to a number of common objections you might run in in promoting your online home based business involving network marketing and sponsoring.
I’ve been working on producing some video content to assist me in my online home based business. I feel like a real amateur, but with anything, you have to start at the beginning. I’ve included it below. It is from my home office and talks about some of the things I got out of a Landmark Forum seminar I attended last night. I’m including it here because I want to get over my natural anti-social tendencies and force myself to do something that is uncomfortable. I’d appreciate any comments, good or bad. I think it is important that we push our comfort zones in life and our online home based business.
