Have you ever read a blog post that just ran on and on and on? I know some of mine have..lol. I mean if you see a blog post with a sexy or interesting title you may click on the link to read the article but what is the first thing you do? You scan the blog post for highlights. You are looking for things to catch your eye. If you find something you may actually slow down and read the whole post and if not maybe just click away from the post never to return to that sight. I will share with you 4 ways to make your blog post sexy so you can grab the attention of your readers and keep them coming back to your blog for more on a regular basis.
FOUR WAYS TO MAKE YOUR BLOG POST SEXY
The best thing you can do to make your blog post sexy is to avoid a solid block of type-
- Use Quotes
- Use Bullets.
- Use Pictures
- Use Short Supporting Paragraphs To Break It Up
Let me explain all four in more detail.
- Bullets- Bullets are a dot or a star or sometimes an asterisk. You can pretty much use them anywhere to list ideas or key points (just like I am using them here)
- Quotes- Most people reading a blog I think like quotes. It is one of the things I look for while doing my initial scan of a post. Why? I think it is because people like to know what famous people have said more than what you have to say.
- Short Paragraphs- If you break your paragraphs up into shorter ones 2-3 sentences long it will help. Also stagger the length of your paragraphs. Maybe a one sentence paragraph followed by a three sentence paragraph will spice it up a bit and give your blog some sex appeal.
- Use Pictures- Using pictures in your blog post is key. We are visual creatures and nothing is easier to use to catch someones eye than a well thought out picture. Be sure to select a featured image for your blog post as well so when posting on social media sites the post will have your desired picture displayed next to the link and title. If you do not select an eye catching featured image the social site may grab any photo from your blog and display it and that may not have any relevance to your post at all.
Sex attracts attention. It’s almost hypnotic the way a sexy post can grab your attention and keep you on the post longer than a drab post. As you see in the above text it is easier than you think to create a sexy blog post.
Most readers today don’t care to see a solid block of text made up of run on sentences. I know, I have created several of those when I was learning to blog.
