Scene at 0:54 I have actually seen how they filmed it.
Here’s the scene described:
Callisto tries to talk to Xena again while the Warrior Princess sneaks into the prison. Xena pretty much ignores her, and Callisto lets out a Xena yell, alerting the soldiers. Xena opens the jail door and hugs Gabrielle, saying her vision isn’t going to happen. Everyone runs away. Xena and Americe fight soldiers while Gabrielle ushers the people out of the prison. Callisto watches. It looks like Xena’s mopped everyone up when Callisto throws Xena’s chakram. The chakram hits Xena in the back and breaks in two. Xena falls to the ground as Gabrielle watches. Source.
Yes, I was there, at the location. And saw how they filmed this very scene, right after the chakram hits Xena in the back and breaks it. Xena’s legs give out and she falls to the ground.
I was traveling in New Xeland with my another Xenite, Simone, and we did our best to find the location.
We found it, got in and looked at stuff. Until we heard voices and followed them. Oh, you want photos? Ok, as soon as I have figured out how to set up the scaner again. I had to have my laptop clean of viruses and have not installed the scanner yet. So stay tuned. Subscribe to my blog 
Anyway, we followed the voices and suddenly almost stumbled over Roman soldiers, sitting around a fire.
Were we in the scene? No. Nobody screamed at us. So we figured they were waiting.
Then we saw a scafolding and Gabrielle’s double and she talked with us for a minute and then went up there and asked if we could watch over the directors shoulders.
AND YES! THEY LET US UP AND WATCH!!!
It was pure awesomeness. They were filming a scene of Ides of March. Season 4. And everybody had thought this was the final season but we were told there was going to be a 5th season. Of course we were not allowed to tell anyone, nor share our photos. Well, now that the show has been over for a few years, the last Xena convention organized by Creationent will be in January 2013, I think it’ll be ok to share them…
Anyway. Lucy and Renee were not there. We were told if they had been there there would have been a guard at the gate. And we hardly had noticed the gate. We were just suddenly on the set, right near a wall. City wall? Castle wall?
It was one of the Xena doubles. She “got hit” and fell on her knees as lifeless as possible. The director was not happy. They tried several times. Good thing she landed in sand.
Then they got two strong guys who held a staff on each end and she was to hold on and let go.
Nope.
At the end, the did it the other way around.
“Xena” was kneeling on the ground, holding onto the staff and the two strong guys pulled her up. The director told us they would reverse it and then it looks like Xena’s back is broken, she loses control of her legs and collapses.
Tell you what: we were astonished. We had seen the props, buildings, the ship, the port… everything is fake, the walls, the mountains. And now they even fake scenes!
By the gods! It was just awesome.
There is only one thing I regret.
Ok, two things.
I didn’t get any autographs, from the director, the double, the soldiers.
I didn’t even dare to touch the basket full of Chakrams. Maybe if we had asked we would have gotten one.
After that we were officially allowed to explore the sites and ended up in a village. Well, I guess I’ll tell that story with the appropriete photos… some other time.
