The End is Here

and I’m ready for a new beginning.
Because I spent all day in my garden, sweating, reading and listening to some audio (two core commitments at any personal develpment system) I had to pack up the stuff I had from my day job – which is ending today – when I got back around 8 pm.
On the way home I drank a can of Xe energy drink because I needed to be awake and alert. And I was – and not hungry. Good plan.
All in all 5 boxes and one suitcase. This morning we carried everything from the 5th floor down to the first floor because the owners of the company had announced, they’d come pick it up at 9 am.
In order to be able to use the suitcase I had to empty it. I had used it when I did chocolate tastings for almost one year.
This morning when I came into my office and saw all that stuff that I had gathered and created and prepared to use for my chocolate tastings because I wanted to be prepared and I wanted the audience to have a good time.
I saw all that stuff piled on my desk and I got sad and a bit angry.
All that time and money I invested into that! And what did it get me? Nothing! A few small sales which often didn’t pay for the expenses. No customers, no fellow distributor. Nothing. Just a big waste!
It would probably make sense to un-pile and un-gather all that stuff because it’s unlikely that I’ll go back doing that. But what if I will get back into it?
And suddenly a thought hit me: I did get something out of it!
I know now, I can speak in front of people (if I’m prepared and had practised). And I remembered school time when I did everything to avoid to have to stand in front of the class and give a “speech”. I just hated it. Or reading a poem. Or what ever. Yuck. Stress.
Hm.
Maybe I didn’t get money out of it but experience. We will see in time how and when this experience is going to be of fruition.
So, this day job thing is coming to an end. One last parcel to make. One last customer to serve.
And now I can reorganise my office again. I’m sure there is more stuff that I don’t need any more.
I have the tendency to be a bit of pack rat. I always think, I better keep this, one never knows when I need it or when it can be of use again. But then, it only takes away space.
In any personal development books you can read that you have to let go of things, make room for new things to come into your life.
I just have to keep reminding myself.
I’m ready.
Just a few more minutes for them to pick up the boxes. Just one more trip to the post office.
What a lovely day!
