A Day In The Life

Blogging on Purpose

Restored from the Empower Network archive (2011–2017), lightly edited to meet our current advertising standards. Views are the original author’s.

bloggingLate last night (for me in the middle of the night: 3 am) Ken Pickard held a webinar where he explained “blogging on purpose” and his own outline. Never heard of this concept. So far I’ve blogged about everything and anything.

Blogging on Purpose

Starting June 11th we (Ken, I and certainly many others) will blog on purpose. The goal is to post at least one blog post per day with a posting structure to target 3 groups of people, one group per month.

The other goal is to attract 200 visitors / 20 leads per day in 90 days.

Tip: If you have a WordPress blog, go once in a while to:
Settings > Privacy > Allow search engines to index this site
because when WordPress gets updated this seems to be automatically set to “no” which means Google won’t see you and your posts.

Blog on purpose strategy:

June – pick a group or target market – pick 1-3 keywords

July – pick another group target – pick 1-3 keywords

August – pick a third group target – pick 1-3 keywords

Write it down!

Get ready and set up

You need some things first to set up.

  • Keyword research (get a google adwords account, the inside keyword tool is better than the one that’s available for everybody)
  • Download Rankerizer
  • Take snap shots of Google analytics
  • Take note of how many leads you already have in your Empower Campaign
  • Have your autoresponder set up

 Let’s start blogging on purpose

Your day 1 post is a pillar post. It can be long 800, 1’200 words. Use your targeted keywords. For instance “10 Network Marketing Tips Direct From The Pros”. List 10 tips high level overview.

Now it’s time to syndicate your pillar post on

  • your Facebook wall
  • your facebook groups
  • Twitter
  • Tribe pro
  • Pingler
  • Blog Engage
  • Google Plus
  • blokube
  • Pinterest
  • LinkVana
  • RSS feed
  • AMR

 Day 2-11

Each day one of the 10 networking tips (in this example)

Use drill down related keywords and backlink to the main (pillar) post. Also backlink from the pillar (main) post to the new post.

The main post now becomes a table of contents and serves two purposes.

Remember to syndicate the new post.

Day 12 is another pillar post. For your second group. Rinse and repeat. Backlink to each other and syndicate. Also, once in a while syndicate the main post again. After all you made some changes, linked to a more in-depth post.

Each post has a strong call to action – fear of loss, leadership alignment, what’s working now, etc.

Snap shots

Take snap shots of your stats every 30 days and/or periodically. Share those snapshots on your facebook wall. You can even put them on your blog.

Ideas for blogging on purpose

Of course you can do it with the target market of Network Marketers out there, but there is so much more.

For instance:

Empower Network Reviews, second level posts for each of the products.

Empower Network Inner Circle, second level posts for ach of the audios (that’s more than 10)

Your network marketing company, second level posts for each of the 10 benefits of that company. About each of the products.

Any affiliate product you want to rank for and second level posts for each fo the benefits, how to videos, best practices etc.

Anything you want to be known for. Again, second level posts each of for 10 questions people ask, top 10 questions people SHOULD ask, 4 general topics. This is called 10x10x4

Posting on Purpose

with a simple plan like this will out-perform every one else who is “hoping” people will their content. This would be called “Hope Marketing”.
